Hi guys,
I'm not from Wisconsin. My family is from Brooklyn, New York. However, my father joined the military before he married my Mom. Then two years later they had me and I've been moving around ever since. My parents, ESPECIALLY MY MOTHER http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif, sound like they never left New York (you can take the girl out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of the girl). So, between them and always visiting the rest of the family in New York, there are just certain words that I say that are pronounced with the liking of a New York accent. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
I would like to thank all of ya'll for responding to my original post because I now have that little flame by the title. That just totally made my day!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (Yes, I'm aware that I am way too into this board http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif )

I always wear the beautiful, simple, Tiffany's necklace which my grandmother gave me for my 8th grade graduation. It is totally my style--classic, simple (very tiny diamond, not showy). It is the only "luxury" item I own, and it means a lot to me b/c I know my Grandmother could not afford it, yet she still decided to buy it for her granddaughter.
It means so much to me, more than ever, especially now, since she recently passed on. Now I go to sleep with it, too, so I can honor her even while I am sleeping. [This message has been edited by newbie (edited April 26, 2001).] |
