Rush Countdown: 2 days
Mood: Impatient

I'm in the process of packing all my stuff up. I move into my new apartment during the second day, so atleast for the next two I will be busy packing up boxes and saying goodbye to a town I hopefully won't have to come back to anytime soon.

All I have left to do is get some last minute things like band-aids and what not.

God likes to play funny jokes on me. And this time he has made everything from ragweed, pollen to tree spores bloom. So my nose is running like a waterfall and my voice is on the edge of disappearing. The last thing I want is to be sniffling the whole time. That sure is lady-like.

get some claritin. I started feeling crummy last friday night, and took claritin late friday night, saturday and sunday and by monday I was feeling tons better. I'm still taking it (I bought a 10 pill pack) just to make sure it's definitely gone.

Thanks! The problem is I'm already taking Zyrtec for allergies. So I don't think I can take anything else along with that. Hopefully, I'll try and flush my sinus out with salt water. Sounds gross, I know, but it really helps.

I feel for you on the allergies! Hope it gets better in time for recruitment...good luck!

I'm excited that you're rushing in 2 days! I hope your allergies clear up. :)

It is so disgusting, but it certainly does work. I prefer the squeeze bottles to the ceramic pot, but it really does help. However if you're like me be careful because sometimes the salt water drains out later, and that's really not attractive. Mucinex can help if you're congested.

My best friend swears by her Neti pot. I have no idea how you people manage to get the water in one nostril and out the other, but it's fun to watch! Feel better!

The only thing I've ever used was a squeeze bottle with salt water. Today was the first day I saw Neti Pot.

I don't know who all is from Texas, but now that all the horrible rain has finally stopped it seems like everything is in full bloom.

including the freaking mosquitoes. worst side effect of the monsoon weather.

I just started using a Neti Pot for my allergies and it seriously makes a difference!!! I can actually BREATHE!

It's kinda gross and feels weird until you get the hang of it, but I found it works really well in conjunction with my regular allergy meds -- Zyrtek and Flonase. I highly reccomend it if you are a serious allergy sufferer.

how's recruitment going!?

Stef the Pef 08-12-2007 08:30 PM

Good luck! Glad to see a Texas thread up here!

(And I can't wait to find out where you are!)

Good luck with recruitment

as for the allergies. I'm on Zyrtec, but prior to that I was on Singulair. I remember the doctor telling me that I could take Singulair and Claritin because the drugs did two different things.

I take benedryl with my Zyrtec and I haven't had a reaction. I would just give your doctor a call and ask them what other drugs you can take with the Zyrtec. WebMD might also have information.

Yay for Texas threads!!!

Best of luck!
