I am Canadian!
I guess you can tell from the name that I am a proud Canadian, and also an Alpha Gam alum from Vancouver!! :)
I am very proud to say that Alpha Gamma Delta has the most Canadian chapters of any NPC sorority, currently with 7 ... from west to east ... Vancouver (UBC) - Delta Zeta Calgary (U of C) - Delta Nu Edmonton (U of A) - Delta Kappa Winnipeg (O of M) - Beta Gamma London (Western) - Zeta Chi Toronto (U of T) - Tau Halifax (Dalhousie) - Alpha Eta Our international headquarters is in Indianapolis, and we refer to it as either 'international' or IHQ. Just thought I'd share. :) Fraternally, Jen |
I think it would be geat to see KD chapters in other countries, although I think that is a hard task. I mean that is a long way to travel consultants and such.
During my years on Panhellenic, we would have the random PNM that was determined to join an international organization. To me, international means, not just one chapter in Canada, but chapters all over. KD has Alumnae Associations everywhere but no college chapters over the borders yet. |
AOII international
AOII has several canadian chapters in Canada. We are the only International org. on our campus. Even though it is not the best selling point for potential new members, it is still awesome to know that we have lots of sisters in Canada! We are proud of that fact!!! :) We usually just call our International Headquarters HQ for short. Sometimes we say "nationals" when explaning things to panhellenic here since they are not international. HQ is just easier though!!! :D Hey to any of my sisters out there!!!
This is a great topic!!! Sarah AOII-a rose ever blooming |
Alpha Phi Omega has been looking at Canada since 1995, and has yet to establish chapters there. You may read about it here. So far, the only foreign country that has collegiate APO chapters are in the Phillipines, where they have been since the 1950's. I can't wait until the first Canadian APO chapter is established. We will be one step closer to fulfilling Frank Reed Horton's, our founders, prophectic statement: "As Scouting is worldwide, so should Alpha Phi Omega be worldwide, gradually in the colleges and universities of ALL nations."
