I love...
Waking up to the sound of rain on a Sunday morning and being able to just snuggle in my bed and not have to get up! Helping people http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif My dogs (Yogi Bear and Fozzy Bear) Dancing up a storm and having lots of fun! Singing karaoke and making a fool outta myself doing it! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Getting praised for my hard work! Falling for a guy again (that gut feeling...oh yeah!) Cross your fingers everyone! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif ------------------ What do you get when you cross an Alpha Omicron Pi and a Sigma Phi Epsilon? A beautiful Chi Omega! ~Love ya mom & dad :) |
Thought of some more stuff...
Any kind of funny word or expression -- my favorite: "We're gonna have a coming to Jesus meeting!" Cracks me up everytime I hear it -- including when my mother says it to me (STILL) because I know she STILL MEANS IT! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Anything that includes "Tom Foolery" such as "I ain't putting up with no Tom Foolery" Hearing a song that you haven't heard in FORever, and still knowing every single word! (Yet I can't remember my own name half the time - go figure http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif). Anything to do with my pets - Oscar (the big black lab) makes the funniest noises when I pet his head -- I can't even describe it, but it just cracks us up --- Riley (the Australian Shepard mix) can smile -- he pulls his nose way up high (kind of like a growl), but he shows you his entire teeth and gums and wags his whole body -- it is the CUTEST thing. He now knows that we give him treats for doing it so he does it on command -- used to you had to get him really excited like when you first got home. 5pm on Fridays!!!!! I'm usually such a cynic, so I'm going to sit down and come up with things I love:
-Sleeping in. -Back massages. -My boyfriend. -REAL BREWED iced tea. The stuff they pass off as iced tea here comes in a can. Yecch! -Running across the Main Green during the first snowfall of the season. -Going home. -Flying first-class. -Kids. |
Since I'm also a pretty big cynic, and have been accused of being 'negative' at times, I'll come up with a list of my own http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
* My amazing boyfriend of 3 years 5 months * My cousins (Boys age 12 and 4 and girls age 8 and 3.5) * Finding something great to wear on the sale rack * Jimmy Buffett's music * Going to Barnes and Noble, getting a Frappucino from the Starbucks, grabbing a stack of magazines, and sitting and reading for an hour or 2 * Warm weather * Mardi Gras * The Hallmark Kiss Kiss Bears * Mario Golf (the best N64 game *ever*) * Kate Spade handbags * Marble Slab Ice Cream * Cancelled classes * www.userfriendly.org |

Sammie17, I've been to Carmel before. My aunt and uncle live in Monterey which is close to there. Carmel is a very unique place. Especially the shops and the beach. If I had one word to describe it I would say its "Artsy". Its not my most favorite place, but I think it would be rather romantic to take a lady to though. My mom loved it there. I like the Monterey Aquarium also and the Cannery.

Hey Kevin!!
Dfeinitely a romantic place! have you been on the 17-mile drive near Pebble Beach (which extends all the way up to san Fran and near my parent's house http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif)? The stops along the way on the 17-mile are absolutely INCREDIBLE--breathtaking!! I just love Carmel so much--I would love to live there one day... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif but the houses there are rather expensive!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif The last time I was in Carmel was 5 years ago http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I have forgotten so many sites there, but I still have that general idea of Carmel http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Monterey is also a lovely city http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Isn't the Bay Area and the Greater Bay Area terrific?? Hey Sammie17 http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
Is that the Pacific Coastal Highway, Hwy. 101? which goes down from San Fran to Monterey/Salinas. I think I did take that route one time with my parents from San Fran to Monterey and it was definitely very scenic in some parts. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I love that whole area of San Fran, Fishermans Wharf, Ghiradellis, China Town, and Monterey. Santa Cruz is kind of a fun place too with their boardwalk and has a nice beach. That area definitely has expensive houses/apartments and I think really you can only get a better deal by going North towards Sacramento. My family has a cabin up in lake tahoe and thats my favorite place which I absolutely love. Sometimes I think Calif. is a great place to visit but not necessarily a great place to live. Maybe thats just me. Kevin Quote:

Hi Kevin, so sorry for such a delay! I totally missed the post when you posted. San Fran is great isn't it? Well this is coming from a girl who has SF as her hometown! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Have you ever been to The Cliff House at Ocean Beach?? WOW. Spectacular views. If you haven't noticed, I'm a person who LOVES bbeautiful views and serenity LOL. There's just something about being able to sit on a rock overlooking the vast sea of blue water, and hearing the waves crash, and seeing a sunset at the same time. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif I'm honestly not sure about the 101 Highway thingey. I think that is where you go for the 17-mile drive...I really can't say for sure though. The 17-mile drive does stretch from SF to Monterey though. Also the outlying area surrounding SF is great! Have you been to the Napa Valley and Tiburon/Marin/Sausalito??? Napa is famous for its wine...and Tiburon, Marin, and Sausalito offer incredible views...and are such beautiful towns. Sausalito has this incredible aura about it...it's a seaside town (of course http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif and the shops there are lovely. It's my kind of place. I want to move there (along with Carmel)! LOL...I have never been to Sac-Town. How is Sacramento? Is it fun there? I also adore Lake Tahoe!!!!! It's got to be one of my fave vacation spots http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif You are so very lucky to have a cabin up there http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif You know, though, I was very, very scared while driving up to Lake Tahoe...I was driving around midnight...and the route you have to take is incredibly dangerous (the cliffs)...I felt like the car was going to swerve off and fall hundreds of feet down to the Lake! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif It's beautiful driving there during the day...but I was scared out of mind during the night-drive! I always am sure to drive extra-slowly whenever going to Lake Tahoe! But anyway, when I was driving on those dangerous roads, I saw those beautiful cabins on top of the Lake...and they are so cute! I told my family I wanted to own a cabin there one day http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
Nice talking to you!!! [This message has been edited by sammie17 (edited February 22, 2001).] |
BTW Kevin, where are you from? Are you from the east Coast?

No worries on the delay http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Thanks for writing back http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Yeah, San Fran is great. Theres so much to do. Although you probably know it much better than I do. I've only visited it a few times. I dont think I've been to the Cliff house and Ocean beach but I could be wrong. Maybe I have. Your not alone on enjoying spectacular views. Thats one reason I love visiting California. It isnt all that great to live there I dont thin. Maybe I'm wrong. I just think some places are better visited. Sac town is ok I guess. Its got old town sacramento which has a railroad museum but I guess its not as cool as other places farther south. but every town has its own character though. Like Hang town as they call it or Placerville. Thats awesome your familiar where my familys cabin is at. Yeah, its definitely my favorite place and first choice anywhere as far as vacations. We have a back road off the back that leads to I 50 which is the road you spoke of. Its pretty crazy too in some places with huge drops. I like going to Harveys too with their buffet and the slot machines are nice too. I'm not much of a gambler though. I'm originally from Virginia. Fredericksburg, Virginia to be exact. 50 miles south of D.C. and we have George Washingtons boyhood home down the street and loads of other historic places. So its night and day compared to California. I love both though. My dads family is fornerly from California and he went into the Marines in 69 and met my Mom whos from Maryland. So even though I've lived in Virginia for many years I've spent my share in other places. Nice talking to you too http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
