What is funny or Crazy?

liveit07 07-18-2007 10:00 PM

That is rediculous, noone asked for all of that, if you don'tlike what I have to say, ignore it completely.

No, it's a correct use of the word, the primary meaning of which to acknowledge, declare or admit. To confess that Christ is Lord is to acknowledge or declare that he is Lord. To confess one's sins is to acknowledge or admit one's sins.

Profess or proclaim will work, too. :) What you wrote is one meaning of the word "confess". However, many words have multiple meanings depending on the context in which they are used. Also, in some translations of the bible, like the New King James Version for example, the word "confess" is used in Romans 10:9, which is what I was thinking about when I made my comment.

Thank you for the clarification. I have never heard "confess" used in that manner. :) (No sarcasm at all, seriously)

Rozrochelle, have you read every post on GC? Wow you are amazing. How do you know that members on here have not openly expressed their faith?

Liveit07, don't waste your time or your breath trying to explain. It's useless because you will be shouting into the wind.

Besides myself, I have not seen even one fairly active GC member openly confess the Lord. If there are other believers here, they are afraid to take a righteous stand. But, that's okay; there will be a day of reckoning because as Jesus said in Mark 8:28: "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." (NKJV)

So let the haters and naysayers do what they do. Shake 'em off, and don't make the mistake of getting drawn in and dragged down to their level. What God has for ITE is for ITE. :D

I'm a Christian. I'm the President of a local ministry, and have worked as Children's Ministry Coordinator and PR Coordinator for my church. I'm not afraid to say it. Nor am I afraid to say that I'm a PROUD member of Gamma Phi Beta and Gamma Sigma Sigma.

So I'm calling BS on this post.

Co-sign, sister!

Senusret I. He posted the pic in response to what I wrote to you, and my response to him was that the pic was funny and he was crazy. He's got jokes and he's one of the positive people on here. The pic was a joke. None of it was directed at you. :)

Thank you. I was very offended by her holier than thou post.

As I often say, paragraphs and white space are a posters best friends.

I for one will not criticize your sorority. Do you.

And RozRochelle, there have been many GCers who have openly confessed their love for the Lord. In the appropriate forums and threads.

And as I have done elsewhere, I will openly confess that I am not a Christian. But I do believe in a Higher Power--sometimes.
I do have one question: why not rename yourselves Iota Omicron Eta? Theta translates to "th", Omicron translates to "o."

I am confused at how you can have been involved with other GLO without having been a member - since according to the ITE website you are not allowed to be a member of more than one GLO? Not calling anyone out, just trying to ease my own confusion about your organization (other than the whole Protestant choosing-to-be-saved thing but that's a completely different discussion!)

RozRochelle 07-18-2007 10:45 PM

What I wrote was my observation and I stand by it. It doesn't mean that people on GC (besides me) have not confessed the Lord on here. It just means that when I've been on the boards before today, I hadn't seen it for myself.

Why would anyone have a problem with what that? I didn't make a blanket statement saying nobody ever confessed the Lord on GC. If I'd done that, you'd be right to call BS on the post, but I didn't.

If you have a response, please PM me. Ditto for anybody else. This is somebody else's thread and the topic's going off track. Thanks.

Whatever. I didn't realize that threads actually belonged to people. My bad.

RozRochelle 07-18-2007 10:48 PM

I believe you and that's glad to know. I just hadn't seen it before now, that's all.

This defines a "blanket statement". Maybe you could have gotten away with the first sentence; however, the second sentence suggests that no one here is as strong as you are in their faith.

ETA: Quite frankly, I think it is a very pompus statement. Don't say it if you do not have the evidence to back it up.

RozRochelle 07-18-2007 11:00 PM

Just because I hadn't seen it didn't mean it didn't happen. I never made a blanket statement saying nobody on GC ever confessed the Lord. That would be offensive, because I can't speak for anyone else... and I didn't. I just said that I hadn't seen it, and at the time I posted, it was true. Why would that be cause for offense?
