Hmm tents outside the houses. A presitgious house amongst a few smaller fraternities. A large mansion off campus where students who attended Stanton were at.
Maybe this is at Florida . . . :) But I've never seen fraternity rush elsewhere so I have little to go on in guessing the OP's location! |
boo brad!

Well it seems that your having a relatively clear-cut rush, choices being made for you and all! I say forget the math homework for the next hour and just completely indulge us. :D

I had to use it for remedial math (I'm math retarded) and for college algebra this year. I hate how the program never recognizes answers that are considered appropriate according to the teacher. Blah! I'm so glad I never have to worry about that crap ever again. My sincerest sympathy :( I can't wait to hear the rest of your story! |
Now I really really like this one!
WOW. This one is great. You are a great writer and I see this sensitive side to you. I really do hope you get the right house and love it! Love this! LOL

These things are such a guilty pleasure.... keep it up.

I went to UCF so I'm kinda familiar with the UF Greek system. I'm not 100% sure what each of the fraternities you listed are but I'm going to guess that you visited SAE, Sigma Chi, KA, ATO and Phi Delt. I think Brad might be SAE and Tim might be KA. I could embarrassingly wrong though. :) The last time I actually hung out at the UF fraternity houses was my senior year (graduated in '03) when I went to visit some UF friends during Gator Growl. I'm sure the Greek system has changed somewhat since then.
|
Well in order for him to be KA his rush would have had to be a long time ago like ten years (something like that) or fall 2006 since KA just came back to campus. I say Sigma Chi (which I know a couple guys), ATO, or TKE (all great chapters at UF). I have spent a lot of time in Gainesville and have a good friend in Theta who has told me about their Greek system. I am glad you found your home!

oh good lord, enough with the guessing, just spit it out!

Whoo hoo I was right :)
As for my guesses as to who is who . . . Garth is certainly ATO. "Old money, party hard" and a "mansion" off campus where Stanton students could be easily found. Dierks had me a little stumped. My immediate guess was KA, because of the reference to their appearance imitating that of boys from Alabama or Mississippi. Plus they served beer. But this is obviously SAE because you mention not once but twice the stairs leading up to the main level. SAE's house is entered on the second floor. Try climbing those stairs in heels for announcing! It's brutal! Plus, I remember their rush being shut down, I have a few friends in that house. Brad must be Sig Ep. It's reputation is known amongst greeks and non-greeks alike and guys always want to rush Sig Ep. The only thing that throws me off here is the mention of a downstairs eating area. There dining room is on the main floor of the house but it all depends on where you enter the house from. It's many wings and levels can be confusing. I have to admit to being a little surprised this made your list of houses to visit, you seem much better fitted for your other choices . . . I'm going to take a chance and say that KA is Tim. My only hesitation is I don't know when you rushed and for the life of me I cannot remember which year SAE got in trouble for serving beer. It was either 05 or 06. KA was off campus only for the 05-06 school year. So if you rushed in 04 or 06, this could easily be KA. "Classiest rednecks around" is a description I've heard many times of KA. But, I'm a girl who grew up on a cattle ranch in an extremely small town (something you and I have in common) so those guys remind me of my friends back home. Josh is Sigma Chi. Your clues here were telling for me: a well known creed and a house surrounded by several smaller fraternities (right in the middle of UF's fraternity row). How'd I do? Thanks for such a great thread. You're a wonderful writer and it was really nice to hear a guy's perspective at rush, made better for me since it's at UF. You joined a wonderful house. |
