Just Barbie. She was the best.:p

I forgot to mention my Easy Bake oven. I loved it. It's somewhere in my mother's basement. I'll bet it still works too.:p

looking back, i cant believe how excited we were to bake cookies by the heat of a light bulb lol! how medieval does that seem now?

oh and i didnt get excited about Barbie until Kenya, that first black one came out...that was the only one my family would buy for us:rolleyes:...i still think Malibu is the prettiest though!

My parent's couldn't afford most of the cool toys; had fun with a box and markers or pencils and paper (When I could use a pen, I was on cloud 9). But, on Christmases and birthdays, we would manage to get something cool--Cabbage Patch Kid and a Jem doll.

But, I did like playing with my friend's My Little Ponies and "Get In Shape Girl" toys we got from a Happy Meal.

^^^I loved Get In Shape Girl! Espeacially the song *singing* "get in shape girl...oh what a feeeel'in"

My favorite was my Atari!

most of my things were family hand-me-downs, we couldnt afford it either, except for birthdays/christmas. we also had a Keds shoebox with pencils and markers, i think that is why to this day i love the smell of a fresh box of crayons...lol!

i also think that is why my parents spoil my daughter, and i do too. i still make her take days off to use her mind, like we did as the "poor kids"...turns out all that time we spent writing and drawing developed one hell of a talent for my sister, who won a full art scholarship 2 years ago...

SOOO i nominate a box of 64 count Crayola crayons with the built-in sharpener!:) and a nice fresh coloring book...

That's funny. When I was a kid (back in the 80's) we would invent our own icecreams. We took vanilla icecream and put crushed up twinkies or snickers in them. Where would we be if we had a marketing team?

I co-sign. There was nothing like a fresh coloring book. Sitting with my friends trying to spot who went outside the lines, even a lil bit...:D:D:D

It was all about being creative! We played Hide and Go Seek amongst other versions...lol.

marquise1911 06-29-2007 11:54 AM

OneTimeSBX 06-29-2007 12:03 PM

you know what was TRULY the sh*t?

4 chairs + 2 blankets + 1 flashlight = the best playhouse EVER!!!

MeezDiscreet 06-29-2007 12:04 PM

Clearly, my favorite throwback toys aren't real "toys" at all.

Someone gave us one of those old tape recorders--you know the ones with the handle. My sister and I used to have hours of fun taping ourselves! We had our own radio show!

My sister has always had a great singing voice and I would do back up by singing into a fan. I KNOW I'm not the only one!
