Yeah, he even announced that the storyline was SUPPOSED to be about his "character's" demise, but instead they were doing the tribute.

Thanks...it was too hard to watch that last night...and I am willing to bet that they had ti set in the story line for him to win the belt sunday night too...would have been cool .....

Yes it was heartbreaking. You can see that they are a brotherhood of men.

I agree. Maybe his wife announced that she was leaving him?

Very ironic indeed.

I started tearing up when Vince announced it in the large empty arena. Then I lost it watching announcers like JBL and Taz be unable to speak from the emotion. Then my tears really wouldn't let up when Edge just broke down sobbing on TV. Finally, the final montage of him and Eddie Guerrero at Wrestlemania 20 did me in. It was very difficult to watch especially the scenes of him with his wife and son.

I just can't believe he did this. In my mind, I'm having a hard time believing it but I know it is true now. :(

even more ironic is that they both won the heavyweight belt at 20

That's right. I forgot how Eddie had won his the same night as well.

I got to go to Wrestlemania 16 in Anaheim back in 2000 as well as Wrestlemania 21 at the Staples Center in 2005. I have pictures I took since Mike & I had floor seats close to the ring.

And in continuation, according to TMZ, he strangled his wife, smothered his son, and then hung himself in the weight room.

Developing story

GEEZUS!!!!!:eek::( My job blocks that site.

Several text messages sent by Benoit prompted friends to call the authorities to check up on him & family

Alas, the details of those messages aren't being released. So it sounds like if his wife was found in an office and the son in a bedroom, they didn't see it coming? I don't know. This is just bizarre and so tragic.

It appears that the text messages were being sent during the Vengeance show.

It says that they are investigating the possibility of steroids. I actually do think that probably had something to do with it, but it's still speculation.
