Apparently the house has been sold and is now inhabited by some Christian student group which wants to be free from the evils of premarital sex, alcohol, etc.

wow.... just..
http://www.dailyevergreen.com/story/27356 I sure hope our alumni group there took them for a ridiculous amount. |
On one hand I am impressed that an organization is renovating the house to help multiple religions come together, but on the other I am thinking that I would never want my fraternity house to be transformed into that.

I'd love to see them get the house back. My Dad was a Beta at WSU, and he said that the Sigma Nu's were their big rivals. He's told me stories about the nightly drunken screaming contests they had and how much everyone thought they hated each other, but in fact most of the guys were all really good friend. I went and saw the house a few years ago, and it's incredible.

its a shame....they will be back soon enough strong chapters always stand up when called to the occasion

I hope the paper misreported that the 'sold' their house. That place just had too much history to do that with.

"The house was in fact sold in 2007 to an Alumni Sigma Nu of USC. We have in contract that we, as Sigma Nu's, have the right to secure and use the place until 2013 if we obey the re-colonizing rules given to us by Nationals and the school. All of last year I worked the school and nationals to allow the campus to take us back. They did. We will not be able to move into the house until 2010 but we will officially and successfully complete the re-colonization for Sigma Nu at WSU."

WSU is back on campus and re-charted. They hope to re-enter the house in Fall of 2011, so maybe they didn't sell it?
