We weren't supposed to have pets, but one my sisters had a pet rabbit named gidget,
i had a hamster (hank) and a guinea pig (cheech) and one of my other sisters had a pomeranian (madison) a few of the other girls had their dogs "visit" too... i think gidget the most mascot-y of the bunch though |
The SAEs had a bulldog, I think his name was Adolphus (or something like that)- and that dog was VERY well cared for- He was always on College Green catching frisbees and going on walks with various brothers. They even had a policy about the dog not being at parties so that noone was tempted to do something mean to him. (but he did get to ride the homecoming float one year).
Our house mother had a cat named Bridget, but she the kitty was kept in her suite - not roaming the house. |
We had Minnie, a cute kitty. She actually belonged to one of the members, however she lived in an apartment with 3 other sisters and occasionally visited our chapter meetings smuggled into the Greek building under a coat.

No one else has a goat?
|
Nice, texas beta. Our goat at Minnesota lived out on a house corp boardmember's farm. It only came to campus for initiation.
But really, DU has a lovely chocolate lab named "Tango". Before I got my own dog senior year, I used to pick her up and take her to the lake or the dog park. |
we have a giant plastic duck..his name is Quackers, and we have a taxidermy duck...his name is Duck Norris

The Pikes here have a golden retriever named Smythe. He originally started out as one of the brother's, but was pretty much adopted by the house. The Sigma Pi's have a cat, whose actual name is escaping me but whom everyone calls Dinner, who also started out as a brother's cat. That particular brother has enlisted in the Air Force, so when he leaves the cat is going to stay.
We don't have sorority houses here, but one of our sisters had a flying squirrel for a while. He was a cool little guy and our unofficial little mascot. |

As for Beenie Weenie....dachshunds tend to have strong personalities (except for my dog Rascal who is afraid of his own shadow!) I have two males and my mom owns a female. Two out of the three can be b*tches! |
In 2004 one of my bros adopted a dog that I hear was part corgi and part pitbull. He had the biggest head and the littlest legs thus his name was Stubby. One ear stayed up, the other did not, it was funny. I loved that dog. When we moved to our new house he lived with me and my big bro cuz his owner was rooming with my pledge bro and my pledge bro hated the dog and the dog hated him. Most the people liked him but not all. One guy had a $200.00 reward for whoever killed Stubby. Unfortunately Stubby got hit by a car in a few summers back. Since then I have been the only house pet, well, we kinda have a snake that we randomly found crawling under a couch when we went to move the couch outside it was under it and for some reason its in a tank in our garage. Anyways, here's a few pictures of the coolest house pet ever...

Love the 1 ear up / 1 ear down. To cool.

Did the person driving the car get the 200 bucks?
|
I have a dalmatian/jack russell mix whose ears do the same thing. We think it makes her look confused all the time.

I will admit that we had a taxidermy owl while I was a collegian. I'm sure it was probably illegal or inappropriate at the very least. We did dress it up for holidays and special ocassions. She looked good with sunglasses and a bandana!
