It was EXTREMELY narcissistic.

Including her tragic end. That's why her tragic end seems very strange to me.

I'm thinking she knew that her time was up. Especially with the premotions and the boy getting hit. Maybe she wanted to be in a better place mentally before she "transformed". I was talking to someone about this last night, and I remembered that Princess Diana gave away a lot of her dresses before her passing, and my grandmother, in her sick bed, talking up a storm the night before she passed. Some people just "know".

The special was interesting, but it reminded me a little bit of the Tupac documentary a few years ago. And with relatives in Atlanta, I heard a different story about why she burned down the house.

I don't quite know how to take this. I thought she was waiting for death. I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of suicide.

I was explaining the same thing to DSTCHAOS. Some folks 'know," even if they don't actually know.

What was the story with the house?

jitterbug13 05-20-2007 11:10 PM

I heard that she found out that he had another woman on the side and if I recall, had a baby by him. Going through all of that AND finding that out would make someone do crazy things (like burning down a mansion). And what was crazier was that they remained together almost up until the time she died.

I was saying the same thing. I was telling my sands that I didn't think that was the real footage of the fatal crash. I recall there being some other conditions, not a clear, sunny day with them driving like 15 miles per hour. Clearly there wasa lot of editing.

I also thought that it was eerily quiet in the car as if something were "planned." It was just odd that no oine was talking at all. I don't know what to think...

Here's the link for the story as it was discussed on GC years ago, as a refresher.

i watched it and was bothered. I just think Lisa was into some things that were not helping her (mentally, spiritually). that girl needed HELP. poor soul.

This sounds very interesting. Now I'm gonna have to go home and find out when it's coming on again and Tivo it. Not like VH1 won't replay it 4 trillion more times anyway.

i caught this Saturday night. i grew up with TLC in constant rotation in my tape deck lol...

Lisa had issues. point blank. she had a rough childhood, rough relationship, i think she was in search of something she was never going to find...i was sad watching it because she seemed so lost. it was kinda like watching an episode of "intervention" except you know how it ends...

I caught like the last 30 mintues, but I agree with you. All the while they keep saying how she felt that a "spirit" was chasing her, I kept saying to myself "girl, rebuke that thing in the name of Jesus!". But anyway......

I did think it was interesting though. I never knew that her album (Supernova) got dropped. I never knew she made a video either.

I too, grew up on TLC so when she died I took it very hard...I played all over her CDs over and over in my dorm...:(

I watched the special on Saturday and was left thinking it was so freaky...How she "knew" it was going to happen and the little boy she hit days before with the last name; Lopez.

It was creepy and sad.

EXACTLY!!!

I would have been trying to shake that spirit off, not trying to figure out what it meant. And I damn sure wouldn't have any haunted shoes in my hut. That whole documentary was weird.

I was like 'huh?' at that point...I mean Lopez IS a very common Spanish surname and she was in Honduras, so that I was like, maybe it was a coincidence.

Though I did sit and think about her comment regarding the spirit accidentally killing the boy instead of her....my mom raised me with those beliefs of "La Muerte" (Death), always being near us and just waiting for our time; I think alot of her perceptions of death were influenced by the Hondurans she met, that's a very Indigenous-Catholic notion of death, thought it was interesting

It was released overseas, but never saw the light of day in the States. I think the record company thought it wasn't good enough.
