Know what you're worth.

Three little words from my dad ... life goes on.

Things will get bad, and sometimes they'll get really bad. But no matter what, we can't eat, sleep, drink or smoke those problems away.

Don't have sex if you aren't ready to be a parent.

Expand your horizons; get to know others who are different from you.

corny i know, but "follow your heart" works for so many situations. from jobs, to lovers, to other major decisions, it works. but always be sure to add just a pinch of "trust your gut instinct"!

This is exactly what I was coming to post!

I like this thread!

Don't ever loan anything you can't afford to do without.

For the job: Document everything and keep a paper trail. Basically, C.Y.A.;)

from my Dad:

people are born to die

as strong a current as electricity, it follows the path of least resistance

I can do bad all by myself

Never Give Up.....Don't Ever Give Up!!!

This was from Coach Jimmy Valvano......

From my parents: You can do it as long as you put your mind to it

And from Mr. Tom Petty:
"You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does..."

From MOM: Be true to self. Life is about "choices"

True words...I have learned my lesson too many times. Sometimes it can be hard to give "tough love." But you have to know your limits...and realize you can't save the world by yourself.

OneTimeSBX 05-29-2007 11:27 AM

another one i learned that came to mind...and this goes for parents, children, co workers, significant others...

if someone knows enough to ask, dont lie about it. they probably already know...

NinjaPoodle 05-29-2007 02:47 PM

I tell this to folks all of the time.
It is what it is.

Live_Wire17 05-29-2007 11:38 PM

Keep it moving...

I say this to people who are determined to argue with me.
