Being from North Carolina and Arizona, I'm pulling for both. I'm also pulling for Miss Connecticut, she spoke and spent time at Omega Phi Alpha's national convention July 2006. Our sorority's purpose goes along with her platform which relates to community service!

I really, really like Miss DC. She's so pretty!
Haha, I just noticed that Miss Tennessee came from the "other" Baylor, though. Might pull for her just for that! |
I watched pageant school and I'm so excited that Alabama is a sister, she was adorable.
So of course I'm partial to Alabama. I am also partial to Arizona. Miss Arizona has gone through a lot to make it there, so more power to her. I really liked Arkansas, Connecticut, Texas and there was one more that I can't name now (but I can picture her). But if they don't make it, I'll support any Greek that does. LOL. |
I pick these for the top 10:
Texas Nebraska Hawaii Arkansas Oklahoma California South Carolina DC Florida Georgia And personally from Pageant School, I am also rooting for Utah, South Dakota, New Jersey, and Nevada. |
I think Miss Georgia, Amanda Kozak, is just absolutely beautiful. I love how exotic she looks!
I read on another message board that one of her parents is from Guam (Chamorro)? Anybody know her actual ethnic mixture? I'm just curious. |
Miss California & Miss Pennsylvania are winners in the 3rd stage of prelims.
I'm watching HEROES tomorrow night but will also be tuning in to watch Miss America while I can. Thank goodness for DVR! |
I loved watching Pagaent School. In fact it's the only reason I'm going to watch the show this year. I definitely think they should do that more often, it just sucks you in. :p

Anyone else find it not-so-coincidental that NBC started talking about Miss USA Tara Connor this morning and broadcasting parts of a special they're airing this week on her recovery?
If I were the Miss America Organization, I'd be so pissed. Not only does their "competition" ramp up a marketing blitz the day of the pageant, but countless people still don't realize Miss America is NOT Miss USA. I'll be rooting for Miss Washington tonight (good luck!), and the host state Nevada (a Gamma Phi!)! |
Miss Michigan is an alumnae of the Sigma Kappa chapter at Michigan State University. :)
|
I'm rooting for Miss Alabama (where I live and went to school), Miss Georgia (where I was born and where my parents live) and of course, Miss Nevada!!
I was just up at Broodwood Village Mall today, right across from Samford University, Miss Alabama's alma mater. I think she looks a lot like a younger, prettier Geena Davis. |
have you all started voting for miss congeniality? i cast my vote!
|
Just as I did when Angie competed in 2000, I've been reading message board after message board for the results:
SPOILER: Top 10 Semi-Finalists (Highlight to read) In order of announcement GEORGIA PENNSYLVANIA MISSISSIPPI OKLAHOMA TEXAS ALABAMA UTAH HAWAII WASHINGTON CALIFORNIA I'm  that Miss Arkansas didn't place! At least she got her Pageant School necklace to take home with her! Pili's got some stiff competition! |
I am always rooting for Miss Alabama - when I found out she is an ADPi I was even more excited.
You know though, I really thought Miss Tennessee was beautiful but I don't think she made the top ten - goes to show this isn't JUST a beauty pagent. Good luck to all of my panhellenic sisters - gotta have a glo girl as miss america. o commercials over |
Tippie, you were 5/10, pretty good!
Texas, Hawaii, Oklahoma, California, Georgia all made the top 10! The rest are Pennsylvania, Alabama, Washington, Mississippi and Utah! Quote:
