Let's face it, usually the 2nd movie in a trilogy kinda sucks but you need it to get to the plot in the 3rd movie. Star Wars is an exception; "The Empire Strikes Back" is probably the best, IMO. But LOTR, "The Two Towers" was painful for me...just a bunch of walking.

I had high hopes for DMC, but I really only enjoyed the last 45 minutes in which Jack Sparrow was making hilarious comments/faces and there was action sequences that had a purpose. The sword fight on the wheel was awesome, but the cannibal island was pointless.

You hush, Two Towers is my favourite. I have no patience whatsoever for ROTK, apart from the battle of minas tirith. I may also be one of a few who just doesn't like POTC. I don't. I haven't even seen Dead Man's Chest. Curse of the Black Pearl was torture to get through. I've watched it twice...just ugh.

I thought given the time of that movie, they could have saved the subtle gestures & just spelled it out for everyone.

Well I got the foreshadowing right away, but I realize that some people don't. I don't know how many movies there have been where I didn't see the "shocking twist" coming early on and it seemed everyone else did.

I waited for DMC on DVD, so I already knew not to expect too much. Because of this, I was able to just enjoy the movie for its entertainment value. I can't wait for AWE to come out! I'm really curious about what really happened to Jack (seeing as how he's in the third movie).

Well I was completely floored by Barbossa at the end - never saw it coming! Later, when I was on my disney board reading about PotC-DMC, (sorry I can't type DMC without wanting to put "Run" in front of it :D ) people were on there with all sorts of tidbits that I missed (like seeing Barbossa's boots at Tia's, the locket at Tia's that matched the music box on the FD, that matched the lock on the chest...) all kinds of stuff. But then, I figured these are people that honestly probably sat through the movie taking notes the whole time. I literally was so shocked at the ending that I had to post on here (and there) to find out what Barbossa had even said.

I was hopeless in the Sixth Sense - never saw it coming.

Old I know, but this made me think of Clerks II.

Ok, so I just saw it, and it was okay. I liked the (very) end; after the credits...hated it before that. I got bored; they could have cut out like 45 minutes of fighting, and you wouldn't have missed anything important! It was good, but could have been better.

BabyPiNK_FL 05-25-2007 01:06 AM

um...i haven't seen it yet, but i knew it. it looks like a big build up to a pointless fight somewhere in asia. they didn't advertise any type of plot...therfore, one does not exist. but i'll be seeing it tomorrow. i mean it's only fair if i threw money to se tobey mcguire dance around with bangs in his face and enough eyeliner to make up the rockettes. i just hope the resolution to the love triangle is not boring and there isn't too much time wasted on new characters because they weren't in the first two so at this point i don't care.

i would like to take the time to mention that johnny depp went to high school in the city where i live and though i didn't go to that school (too far east so we went to the next city over), we did share an english teacher and one of his former classmates also teaches at my former high school as well.

What is the website? I liked the movie but can't help but feel like I have missed a lot of info!

I liked it better than the second movie. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending but it had to happen. It definitely left it open for a 4th if they want to make another one.

I liked better then the second one too. And stay after the credits it gives an extra sceen.

I wish we had stayed last night. Can you PM what was in the "bonus" scene? I think after sitting through the credits after Shrek 3 with nothing, we weren't going to do that again!

That's exactly why we didn't stick around. We waited during Shrek and got nothing! I know we'll see it again so I'll see the scene at some point.

From the people I have talked to who went and saw Shrek, many of them have stayed for the nonexistent bonus scene.

I was soooo ticked about waiting through Shrek 3's credits w/o getting a reward for it. They can't tease us like that!

I think the last scene in the movie would have been a bonus scene, it was so seperated from the rest of the movie.
Of course, my big went with me and she didn't know that Donkey and Dragon had babies... foals? cubs? ... because she'd never watched the last big of Shrek 2!
