This happened in Detroit, except there was absolutely NO notice to the staff and deejays. They came in to work... mind you on April Fool's Day... and got let go. No announcement of a new radio station starting... DOUG FM.
Why can't they just leave the good radio stations the way they are? |

They changed one of my favourite stations in Boston with no warning. Star 93.7 played dance music and remixes all day and the morning show was pretty hilarious. All of a sudden it turned into Mike FM, a DJless station that plays whatever and some of the Star DJs moved over to my other favourite Boston station. I'm still pissed about them dropping Star...their remix of Without Me was the funniest one I had ever heard.

Anybody know if another station will take over the 24-hour Christmas music?

Bump! I'm still wondering if Atlanta will have a 24-hour Christmas music station! I know that Birmingham does but it doesn't always come in clearly here.

Fish is playing Christmas music all day today-Halloween!

I used to work for Clear Channel and they've had their Bull country station in Augusta, GA for a couple years now and just switched it to a lower wattage dial position and moved their classic rock station (been in town about 13 years) to the higher wattage position where the Bull was. Many were shocked as the switch was sudden and there are rumblings that they will do away with the Bull all together eventually, as it is bucking a competing country station that is doing quite well. As much as I loved who I worked with over there, I kinda wish I had satellite radio as well... For now I'll stick to my iPod...
