Seeing Real Letters
Originally, when I saw the first few trailers or whatever, I did see our letters in that jokah, however, some expeditious moves were made at our headquarters, and statements of infringement were thrown out there and those clips that showed our letters were taken out. Again, I think that this film is whack when it comes to the subject matter. I don't think that there should be a movie made about stepping, because of the sacred nature of what it means to step. Hollywood doesn't have to de-mystify every thang, shit. Some things need to remain private and sacred, not made into modes of entertainment and commercialized. Our pledge process is totally unique and unto us. Stepping is what comes as an end result of that journey.

Agreed!

Hmm...
Now that I think about it, I don't think I will be seeing it. I originally thought it was a documentary styled film, but after really seeing the trailers, I can say it doesn't look too appealing.
It'll be interesting to see how the lawsuit goes, though. |

I had posted another thread about this. The movie looks great, i can't wait to see some of the dance sequences. They should look great on the big screen

hmm...
I would n't pay money at a theater to see this kind of movie because its just not my favorite genre. I will probably check it once it makes its way to dvd. I am a sucker for great showmanship, and from what I can see, thats what is most appealing about the flick.
On a serious note, film makers take artistic liscense everyday when it comes to story telling. From a series of correspondences I read from the filmmakers and APhiA leadership, its all pretty sad. So the Alphas got a donation from Sony... ...guess it really was n't about the principal after all ...huh? To the Kappa who is filing law suit- if the story really is yours...good luck with that... |
I still can't see it.
I get mad everytime I see that trailer come on. Never in my life have I seen two step teams battling...at the same...on the same stage. I personally haven't see that many men step together at the same time. Just seeing that many men wearing red jackets stepping together on the yard irks the devil out of me. Maybe it's realistic for a coming out show, but I don't like this fantasy version of Greekdom. Maybe there's some hidden nugget of wisdom that they couldn't put in the trailers because wisdom in a flick about Greek Life wouldn't translate to dollars. |

Me too! I have to turn the channel or leave the room. |
I 'm not interested in spending money to see the movie.

Well I'll be seeing it. I might as well it almost reminds me of Drumline and that was a good movie. I understand the whole trademark infringement, but that makes me want to see it even more to understand what the whole issue is about. The thing I don't understand is that the creator or the producer of the movie is an Alpha. I thought the movie may promote a positive image for all Greeks.

Wow...after reading the comments int his thread...I'm not sure if I will spend money to see it...but wait until Netflix brings it out. It does look appealing to the eye though.

i wont even waste my bandwidth & time downloadin this rubbish... |
Well everyone doesn't have same style in movie's. I for one will see it because it looks interesting to me. If after watching the movie I'm not satisfied then it would be my problem and my money wasted....no one else is paying for my movie ticket but me. (Please don't think I am trying to be rude because I'm not). I just see a lot of people ridiculing the ones who are choosing to see it. That's their opinion if they want to see it.
The movie may catch a lot of eyes mainly because of the dance sequences....keep in mind it may be a lot of dance fanatics on GC. P.S. I've never seen Titanic and that was by choice because it seemed like a stupid movie to me, but I never questioned other people that wanted to see it. |
