Yep, when I worked in adolescent psych, we tried very hard to talk a 14 year old girl out of going to a state with a marital age of 14. She really wanted to run away and get married. Never found out whether we succeeded or not.

i had a friend who was 14 when impregnated by a 35 yr old pastor. (and ppl wonder why I hate organized religion! :p)

he was charged with influence of authority or whatever (esp since he and his wife were also housing my friend at the time, as a foster home) but wasn't found guilty of anything.

they ended up getting married eventually (her mom kept changing her mind on whether she'd allow it or not) and had more children, but I certainly didn't stay friends with her..haven't seen them in probably 10 years or so.

I don't mind that the age is (was?) 14, but think it should be limited by a span...like only allowed within 4 years difference or something like that for those under 18...
