I love the time change...

I was working on a brief until 4AM, but thanks to the time change only 3AM!

Happy day.

I mixed up my AM/PM when I changed my alarm clock on Sunday and was almost late for work today!

On another note, does anyone else have Sprint for their cell phones? My phone didn't pick up the time change and I cannot find anywhere in the phone where I am supposed to update it myself...

I have T-Mobile & although T-Mobile does change the time automatically for most phones, some phones do not have the capability to change on their own. So it could be the model of phone you have, and not just your service provider.

On every phone I've owned it's under "Settings" ->"Phone Settings"

I didn't realize it was this weekend until this morning. This could explain why I fell asleep at 10:30 last night and woke up at 5 this morning...
I always enjoy the time change in the fall. Hooray extra hour of sleep!

Every clock (computer, cable box, and cell phone) I have automatically changed itself except for my oven and alarm clocks. It's pretty convenient.

I find this time of the year depressing. I can no longer deny that the winter is around the corner when the sun sets before 5 PM.

I have Sprint and they always screw up my time the Saturday night before the time change. When I got text messages Saturday night, they all showed up an hour later than it actually was, and I freaked because I thought I was late for the party.

Hawaii doesn't observe DST and I hope we never do.

Ben Franklin obviously DID NOT have small children when he came up with this time change idea. My one-year old eats and sleeps on a schedule, and he doesn't get the time change. So I was up at 5 (which used to be 6) this morning. Hopefully he adjusts to this soon (or by next spring when we go back).

I didn't realize it was Franklin's idea...I guess they can't all be winners.

I learned in HS civics that this was passed b/c of a coalition of special interest groups, which included corporate farms and candy mfgs, with the candy co.s thinking the extra light would in the fall, for halloween, so more candy sales, so they bankrolled it, and then got screwed in the language

I think that this site explains the history & rationale reasonably well.

Two years ago, and this year, I was out being "social" and my phone changed itself. I thought I had blacked out and lost an hour of my life, and then I realized it was time to change the clocks. I felt so dumb both times.

Usually turning it off and back on again resets it.

AOIIBrandi 10-30-2006 04:43 PM

I tried the turn off and back on thing, but no luck yesterday. The good news is that sometime in the last hour it has decided to reset itself. You would think Sprint could keep up with something this simple. Oh well, cest la vie.

RU OX Alum 10-30-2006 10:26 PM

time change is such hassle...everyone I talked to was "off" because of it....it's even worse in the spring, when people loose sleep......

JonInKC 10-30-2006 10:58 PM

Yeah, I knew I was late today when it was light out. Then on my way out to the car I sprained my knee. AGAIN. It was not a good day. :(

AznSAE 10-31-2006 12:01 PM

in the fall they should fast forward one hour instead of rolling it back. yesterday i got off work at 6PM and it was dark outside.
