Does this mean our Alpha Chapter will never be allowed to come back?

Will this hurt Alpha Phi Omega's chances of getting reactivated Alpha Chapter in the future (ie create/intensify a distrust by Lafayette's administration of GLOs in general)?

Just curious

Maybe they don't have a problem with service organizations as long as they behave as service organizations should.

...maybe APO isn't a threat to the university's new structure as long as they stick with Red Cross blood drives and knitting sweaters for the elderly and steer away from the things that social GLOs have become notorious for.

If they have a stupid Greek advisor that lumps all fraternities together as being the same, I would say yes.

Haha, I've never seen someone get defensive about hazing in this way before. "Yeah-huh we can haze! We can, I swear!"

Hey all, Tom was being sarcastic with his post.

It just goes to show that shortened pledge periods are BS - if a GLO really wants to haze, they'll get it in quickly.

However, this sounds more like a helicopter mommy  being upset because her daughter is finally getting a life.

Lafayette is a classic case of party school trying to become PC and failing miserably. We have many of those in our fair state. :)

Thank you for being one who can see sarcasim at its finest!:D

Yes, women can be very spiteful in the worst way.:(

But anyone who would be so ignorant to put up with some of the more physical and mental hazing is well, not to bright.

If that's what you gathered from that, "GDI," then you're an idiot.

I'm not the one who likes Tucker Carlson :p

Seriously though, I was simply surprised to see someone defend the ability of women to haze. Yes, Tom's an idiot whether or not he was being sarcastic, but of all the things to argue with him about...

Then shame on you.

Seriously though, if you fail to see why acknowledging that ANYONE can haze is important, then you're (once again) an idiot. GDI.

...then what am I so afraid of?

Since APO is not IFC, I do not see that it would have any trouble getting re-started.

President Weiss is very supportive of Greek Life despite not being Greek himself; however, he stops being supportive when GLOs stop following the rules.

I love the Pi Phi girls at Laf & I sincerely hope that these allegations are proven false.

Rain Man 10-10-2006 10:11 AM

I just hope that the Kappa Delta Rho chapter (Tau) at Lafayette doesn't get busted over some dumb mess--5 of the Alpha Phi Omega founders helped start the KDR Tau chapter via the Krescents Fraternity eating club of which our founder started the Krescents.

Alpha Phi Omega's founders did play quite a role in Lafayette's Greek life during their tenure there.
