The facts

This girl was the only member of XYZ who did not pledge (hazed, if you will), and I think the lack of respect as a XYZ changed her personality. My question was never about the girl, pledging, or how to handle the situation for this was only an example of the question that I asked.
Once again the question is how can someone let anything (people) change who they are?
BTW: I care because... I DO! She is a fellow greek, and....never mind!

Like for real, in the great scheme of things, what does this matter??? In 10 years, why would this be important? Handle this situation..?? let it go, why give others power over your self worth?? over how you should be viewed??

maybe I'm getting old, or maybe I've been working at this high school for too long, because this is the same song my students sing..

Okay, did everyone miss the question? Handle what situation?
I don't have a situation to handle. I asked a question and expected OPINIONS on the question asked. I gave an example of a greek situation (since this is a greek message board). I could have used another example like why men or women let their significant other change who they are, but I didn't. Why is everyone so fixated on the example and not the question. Am I missing something?

She changed because she's weak and has self-esteem issues. That's my opinion.

Or her experience sent her into depression.

That's the problem with questions like this. There are so many untold variables that who can really give an informed opinion?

Is this for your thesis or something???

that girl sucks

if that girl got all ridiculous after pledging than that means she is a big puss and should think about joining the theatre department. greek life is not for everyone and if u cant get through pledging than go home and dont come back

Or something happened to her that the OP and we aren't privvy to. Sheesh, it's amazing to me how folx are jumping to judgement about a person whose "experience" was told by someone who obviously didn't know much about it either.

Heck for all we know pledging may have had nothing to do with it. She might have experienced a major loss in her life and she's not the type to go around spreading her business.
