Kevin, I agree with you and it looks like most of us as GLOs have the same feeling.

Alumni Association should not be taken lightly of course.

It is as special to us as having been a new associate/pledge as it should be to everyone else. They have to earn it for a myrid of reasons not just bestowed on them.

I would say that as rare as AI is for us, it's taken a lot less lightly than pledging. In both of the cases where we've done AI, the initiate has neither asked for it, nor have they expected it. The AI was only done in return for years of dedicate service and dedication to our chapter while expecting nothing in return.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Innnnnnnnnnnnncorporated does have graduate/alumni membership intake. as do all the NPHC orgs...
