My condolences then. I really think you've made a bad move.

ETA: I hope you've added a disclaimer regarding the AI process. I'd hate for any of your readers to think that this is what really happens when a woman decides to pursue membership this way.

You honestly found a publisher for this? Wow.

As for why this woman is AIing, well, that'll give away the ending.

I can't really say anymore about the storyline as the book has not officially been announced yet.

Just because something actually happened doesn't mean it makes for compelling or believable narrative.

By "done" do you mean written? Represented by an agent? Sold to a publisher?

Are you serious?

Oh, I forgot this was the short people's rights person. I expect we'll see this book at our local Barnes and Noble around the same time her pet poodle AIs.

I don't think I'd read it. It sounds boring.

I don't think your average American reader would buy it. In order to be interested in the story, you'd have to know what AI is. Most GREEKS don't know what AI is so I don't expect any guy on the street to know either. The average American barely knows what sororities and fraternities are (outside of what they see in TV/movies).

I think you should've run this idea through the test market here first...

greekalum 09-29-2006 03:52 PM

I think that's what she's doing. She's written it, and she's looking for support that this is a viable novel subject to help sell it to a publisher.

So why ask for opinions on it after it's been written? Especially in the midst of all the AI controversy.

Just what I was thinking...

Why stir up trouble if you were just going to do it anyway?

Because some people like to create trouble, that's why....and other people just want to hear opinions, even if they know that most of them won't agree.

Wouldn't read it. Silly subplot.

_Lisa_ 09-29-2006 04:05 PM

Hell I'm bored just reading about a book like the one you've suggested.

valkyrie 09-29-2006 04:13 PM

Will the main character be petite, and will her new sorority sisters join her fight to provide fashionable clothing for the underrepresented petite women of the world?

Taualumna 09-29-2006 04:56 PM

OK. I made a mistake. I shouldn't have posted this. Will someone please close/delete it?

THanks
