Hey...wasn't there a person asking for how to AI 101, though? That is my greater concern....

That was jadedkittn. Her thread was deleted as well.

On the deleted note...what's up with people deleting their posts? I understand if recruitment isn't going well but you don't have to delete your post/threads.

I talked with the AI over pm. She was pissed b/c people were asking for sponsorship in pm. She said she wanted to cancel out her whole account b/c she thought it was gross, which it totally is.

I would love to know who is stupid enough to ask for sponsorship to an org from someone who isn't even initiated yet????????

PinkandGreenJ 09-18-2006 08:16 AM

That is pretty much what she said to me and that who is stupid enough to ask over the internet at all.....
ETA: There are a lot of interesting people on here who ask for interesting things sometimes. ;)

That raises a question for me: I know AIs are supposed to be full-fledged members with all the rights and responsibilities, yadda, yadda....but would you want an AI of your org sponsoring other AIs?? I mean, we've obviously had some examples of some good, solid women who have AIed and shared here on GC...but for every one of them, there seems to be 2 loonies trying to AI. And if you get a woman, who sorority shopped for her org, made it in, and is in the (God I hope SMALL) school of thought that AI is the "wave of the future", and starts sponsoring everyone and their dog for AI, I can see disastrous results...

PinkandGreenJ 09-18-2006 09:03 AM

Gee, I hadn't even thought about it too much.

Well, recommending is one thing...whether they get in is another. I can see your point, though.

One PNAI who shall remain nameless, cough, cough, plooshies, (sorry I had a tickle in my throat) is a prime example of someone I wouldn't want to recommend anyone, whereas ariesrising is a great example of an AI you would want to have that power. It all depends on the individual.

I guess we just haveto have faith in our sisters that the loonies don't get in. So far, the girls on here who I have seen AI into my GLO have been great.

It does seem like there have been some crazies here lately, but I would hope that all AIs won't get cast in a bad light because of it.

I am almost afraid to ask but--what do you all do if someone you deem inappropriate for AI approaches you here. Should you tell someone as a warning???

Most definitely. I know of several GCers who have directed either their HQ or the local alum chapter the candidate is looking at (judging from their location or 'clues' they reveal) to GreekChat just so they can see for themselves what's going on so that they can take any necessary action.

I wonder what you mean about AIs supposedly being Full Fleged Members of a certain GLO!

Do You mean they are not?

So an AI gives another AI help, they are not good enough?

Sorority Shopped? What do you think that any undergraduate is doing during Formal Recruitment?

Small School? What does that mean?

Goodness, you are underwhelming to say the very least!:o

Yes, there have been loonies trying to AI, but there have been a Hell Of A Lot Of Women Who have AIed with many GLOs and are doing a great job!:)

You better thank them and appologize for the work that they do for Their GLOs.

Didn't we have an AI thread that advised potential AIs what alumnae chapters do and don't, and what to expect as an AI? Or was it part of a deleted thread? I can't find it.

Yes. It was about the biggest trainwreck in GC history. It's gone, and good riddance.

Tom Earp 09-21-2006 07:23 PM

It is now in Recruitment Thread when John moved it over.:)

You must have found it as you posted in this thread!:)

You can still go to the top of the thread and see Navanes post at the top!:D

AlphaFrog 09-21-2006 07:27 PM

You know damn well that's not the thread she was refering to.
