video ipods are the best -- you can download shows and hook it up to your tv and watch it -- I bought the whole first season to Lost and did this...it was great!

I have the 30 gig video IPod and love it. I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks everyone for your input. Now that I've decided on the Video 30gb, what accessories do you recommend. I did see that there is a "sport-wrap" (I'm assuming it's an armband) for the video ipod.
Anything else??? |

anyway, i have 30GB, about 1300 songs, 8 videos, and @ 40 pics - i've got i THINK 23GB left? i think the jump from 4 to 30 is assinine (Richard Gere assinine that is), esp cost wise. the shuffle will be discontinued (and really, never shouldve been created), and the nano just like the mini (which i liked and wouldve gotten if i had the $ then). now why were the mini iPods the only ones to come in different colors? p.s. saw this old dude with a first-gen iPod - couldnt tell his ish. |
if you like to run check out the Nike+...btw, i have a first generation iPod

The Bose sound dock is very expensive, but really worth it. My boyfriend has one and the sound quality is just amazing. Plus it has a remote so you can skip tracks. He bought me an iTower from Sharper Image for Christmas, and honestly, it kinda sucks (although I'll never tell him that!).
also: if you want to play your iPod in your car and have a cassette player - get the cassette attachment instead of an FM transmitter, which are all pretty crappy, especially if you live in a bigger town (I used mine in Miami and Fort Lauderdale) - the interference from other radio stations is terrible. I wish my car had a cassette player for this reason alone! |

I have the 30G Video iPod and I *strongly* recomment the cassette adapter for your car. DC radio is pretty bad, so I almost always just listen to my iPod while I'm driving. If you get that, I also recommend getting a car charger.
I have the arm band for when I go to the gym, but I don't use it too much. If I'm on the treadmill, it's just as easy to put my iPod in the little space on the console. If I'm weight training (specifically on my upper body), I find the arm band to be a nuisance. |
The Nike + is only for the Nano. The Apple Store should have some decent armbands for the video models.
I got an iSkin for my video iPod. It's pretty good, but it wasn't very cheap. The Bose Sound Dock is my next gift to myself! :D |

I just got a 2GB iPod Nano for my birthday. It has just under 400 songs on it right now, and it says it hold about 500. I was thinking about this the other day, but do I really need 60GB? I don't want video on it, I won't ever listen to 6000 songs. For me, it's just something to keep me occupied to and from work.
What's so bad about the black ones (other than the nasty finger prints all over them - yes I have a black one)? |
