So you don't get to go right to your new house?!? Ugh, I would hate that. After all the stress of the week it seems a bit anti-climactic. Though, I guess if you hated your bid, you'd have time to compose yourself.
Intersting about the Chi Os in white as it is not required for our New Member pinning - unless things have changed, but I don't think so. Maybe just a tradition at that chapter. |

Most chapters at UGA used to do white for bid day, granted things may have changed since I was there. But previous posters are correct about the bid cards, they instruct you when to be at the house and what you need to wear. I think it's just a few hours difference though b/w the time you get your bid and you have to be at the house. I remember the mad dash to get ready before all the sisters arrived at the dorms to shuttle folks to the house.

It wouldn't really work at Georgia to have Bid Day immediately where they open their bids and run screaming to the houses.
If you know the campus and its relation to Milledge Ave. where most of the houses are, it would be pretty funny watching the girls get their bids at Tate and then hoofing it up Baxter hill! :D (would be pretty easy for the Lumpkin houses though!) |
We didn't run to our houses, we had girls waiting at the location to drive us back to the house. Though I guess the pledge classes are too big for that at UGA - the traffic would be horrible, I'm sure!

My daughter, a Chi O alum, passed the Chi O house where they were out there with the mariachi band and said that the pledges' shirts read "Juan in a Million"! LOL!
