My first car was an 89 LX 5.0 Mustang, in red-- pretty much looked this the one in this picture. I got the car in 1991-- I drove it my senior year of high school.

First car was a blue 1971 VW Bug that I bought for $1,000 in 1984. I think I got ripped off but I didnt know any better then.

No heat, no air. Sweltering in the summer and freezing in the winter.

How could Germany make a car with NO heat. It always amazed me.

My first car was an 80 Chevy Citation, until I totaled it. Then I had an 83 Cutlass Calais for a while.

I don't know, but my buddies had a good time making fun of me about it. After baseball practice one day, I came out and found they'd taped a "Grandma's Parking Only" sign on my back window.

Mine was teal though.

I got the hand-me-down 1997 Saturn SL2. It did its job though.

Fast car was a '92 Black Grand Am. Purchased in 97, died in 2001.

My first car was a silver 2000 Acura Integra.

I posted this photo over at the "What do you drive" thread.. because this literally was my first car, and I still have it. (I only drive it on nice days. I have a second car that I use most of the time)

I bought my '67 Stang as a senior in highschool from a teacher who hardly ever drove it. (I bet he's kicking himself today for not holding on to it!)

I drove it the whole time I was at college in Florida. Think about it.. the Florida heat with black seats, black roof, and no air conditioning!

It was a "Fred Flintstone" car by then.. rusted out floors! I would stop at a red light, and the woman in the car next to me would roll down her windows and say, "Hey, I love your shoes!"

But, eventually, I had it competely stripped and restored. Rebuilt engine, new floors, carpet, interior, etc. It took about 7 years from start to finish.

Now, my Mustang is my pride and joy.

I hate to tell you this but your teacher isn't kicking himself in the pants for selling it. He can buy a fully restored plain Jane hardtop in that year for 10-12. Unless you have the A or K code true GT most of those things only hold sentimental value since they made so many.

I got my first car this year. I really like driving :)

Your post, btw.. is full of inaccuracies and assumptions. I didn't buy my car from "my teacher'".. I didn't even know the teacher I bought it from. You don't know how much I paid for it, so you don't know why I said he's kicking himself. And you also don't know how much I've had it appraised for, (Your figures are off, btw).

And that's a plane Jane 67. It's not a GT, it doesn't have matching A or K code engines. It's not a Shelby or a Fastback. In terms of performance it has none. At least the GTs can keep up with a lot of cars today. Your "Stang" is nothing but a mid block 2 barrel engine that was produced in large quantities. It's a hard top, the vinyl gives it a little more but not much, and in the most perfect scenario with pristine contour parts and low mileage you couldn't sell it for more than 15. There's no chance that "the teacher" got rich selling that car to you so it doesn't matter how little he got paid for it. Your fake ass appraiser I'm sure told you all that - I'm sure he knew exactly how much it would sell for and now how much he thinks it's worth.
