em-Matt sent me a bigger form 25 with all of the UF Brothers signing and is hangin the house of LX Z!. Good luck! Let us know!:) |
I have no problem hosting a copy of the COA, but if someone at nationals specifically took the site down because they don't anyone to see it yet, I am hesitant. I am a youngin when dealing with these kind of matters, so please educate me. The last thing I need is to burn bridges with Nationals.
I am surprised that they decided to restrict public material that was posted on their public fraternity manuals website. It was all directly linked and appeared to be for the public, as it was on the committee's minutes for that meeting. Let me know what you all think. |

Using to sell to make money for an individual for profit gain is different tha aiding Brothers. If it is for monetary gain, then it needs to be registered and fees paid to LXA. You would still need approval from IHQ to move forward. They do make the final call on this. |
I looked over fraternity manuals again because I was worried that google in its infinite knowledge stumbled upon something hidden, which is is known to do, and the Graphics Committee is clearly listed in the LCA section. Someone even setup a link to all of the new graphics:
http://www.fraternitymanuals.com/ind...hics_Committee Puzzling as to why it everything was restricted. I wont post it on a websever, but if no one complains otherwise I have no problem emailing to whoever wants it. Let me know if you want a PDF, or illustrator image. |

I thought about it later here is why I wont post those particular files, specifically the illustrator files. The files still have individual layer for each image in the COA, ie. each quarter of the shield, the helmet the lines that make up the rays of light, everything. It would be real easy for someone to go and copy parts of our COA in the digital format and modify it unauthorized, I read the thread about that emo band that was using our COA. I personally wouldn't publish one of my works in that fashion without merging all of the layers so they couldn't be modified individually. Curiously, those images have been up for months to public view. I don't know why now it would be a problem. I plan on making a canvas COA from one of those images. You have to remember that one of those, there were 3 or 4, will eventually be the "Official" COA. I would say 90% of the COA's i've seen are hand drawn, and custom made, they all vary. The point of the prototypes are to translate the original drawings color, to digital format. Did Cole and Mason MEAN to have that a certain shade of green? Is that supposed to be faded there? True to the original representation as possible in digital format. I do hope at some point when they decide on the new Official COA, they release the other candidates as well. They are all amazing reconstructions. I will still send them to anyone who wants it as long as they are a known brother. The last thing I want to do is upset the guys working hard at HQ. John |
PS. http://www.largeformatposters.com/canvas-printing.html
Very acceptable prices on canvas printing. They do oversized prints. I had my dimensions worked out yesterday before my power flickered on and off. Going to be something like 30 inches wide by 40 something tall. Only around $50. |

They worry about people selling items and not getting a royalty that goes to the IHQ. This helps put money in LXA cofers. |

I'm sure I could find this in the trivia section, Ive seen it listed there before, I need to know the names of all of the current official colors on the coat of arms.
Specifically referencing these: http://www.lambdachi.org/publication...rs/default.asp Which do not match these: http://www.lambdachi.org/publication...lca_sheet2.pdf The 2007 colors I can confirm are the official colors on the coat of arms that HQ is using from now on. To get to my point, my mother has offered her time and services to painting a COA for my chapter. Shes going to make a nice large 3 foot by whatever copy. She has talked to the CEO of LCA and they sent her a packet of free stuff on how to go about making one, real nice people over there in Indiana. They gave her what is listed on the first link I posted as the official colors, the hexadecimal color codes. What I need to know is the official name of the new colors, of the pantone color reference, so she can get the specific paint. Apparently you can't find bottles of acrylic paint by its hex or RGB color number. Any help anyone can give on this would be greatly appreciated. My mother used to do this kinda stuff for my dad, who was a LCA, back in the day. She is very meticulous, and wants to do it perfect, which is probably a good reason why I am not. I would probably give up and just match the color by eye... which is a nono so I have been made very aware of. In ZAX, John Dever |
I am not sure if to many have noticed, but, the old form (205 or 250 ?) Coat of Arms have changed colors over the years and the number dropped form the printing. They seemed to have paled out.
I know I had a guy who would put letters on polo shirts and caps and I could sell them to Brothers and the money would go to the Zeta, but there did not seem to be enough interest from the feelers I put out. Before I did, I did an okay from IHQ on it. Yep, there some damn fine Brothers over in Indy!:) |

I've used a brush on enamel called "Garden Green", which is a nice balance. Comes in a glass jar, by plasti-kote. Purples are tough. Very easy to get too blue or too red. You want a "royal purple". Might have to play with that one. |

Ill pass the advice along though, thanks. |
