why does she feel we owe her a reason for taking down something that doesn't belong to her?

and if she's reading this here's why it matters -
Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity was founded in 1925 by 14 illustrious young men who wanted to see a change in the world in which they lived. Since 1925 we have become the nation's largest student service organization and not only exist in the US but around the world. You want to know why this means something? Because it is a visual, emotional and TRADEMARKED image of our Fraternity. Deal with it.

anybody have any info on why this group still hasn't removed the images from their site?

Largely because I haven't gotten back to her, I guess. I still haven't seen anything in the responses after my further information that I felt was appropriate.

To boil down the responses recently.
"It means something to us, we'll say why even though we know you won't understand it. Remove it and Deal"

Don't you think I had all of the information provided here when I talked to her?
I wasn't expecting more from her, I was expecting more from *us*.

It is funny, one of the things in her crests from ours is the Knight's Helmet. Are we really showing the characteristics that Knight's Helmet means to us?

And to answer the other question, I seriously doubt the national office would spend the money on trying to get a Cease and Desist order. IMO, the money and time that would be spent putting that together could be better spent on other things of greater use to the brothers of the Fraternity.

Not in APO but what about: it's copyright protected so it's against the law?

Also would contacting livejournal be useful here? I'm not sure about their rules but it could be grounds for removal of their account (or at least the picture)

Randy - I think what supercedes all of that, or anything we said, is that it's TRADEMARKED by us. We don't have to get into a big emotional thing to justify telling her to get rid of it, she's doing something wrong in the eyes of the law, period.

There was a "tri delta" community on LJ that was NOT made up of actual Tri Deltas - it was some high school girls thinking it was cute to use the name. Tri Delta managed to get it off LJ. They weren't about to just blow it off.

The emotional thing was what was getting me the most. As for whether it is enough of the crest to be a Trademark violation, I'm not sure. I'll ask her to go ahead and redo it the next time I see her on IM.
