because im bored and this thread is almost a year old...
whatever happened? |
Oh, yeah, I forgot about this thread because it took them so long to make any sort of decision.
In the end, they decided against hiring a congregation member, because they don't want to loose members, should it not work out. So they hired outside the congregation. Guess what? First new member class avalible after her hire date, the new music director joined our church as a member. So much for not having members as employees, right? (Although, in her defense, it's hard NOT to want to join our church after you experience it). Bottom line: Staffing your church should NOT be an evangalism opportunity. |
Ok, so a week after I posted last, we get a resignation letter from the woman that the committee picked...she'd been in ministry too long, and needed a break. Sooooo....they picked a woman from the orginal committee to become the new choir director (so much for not choosing congregation members, but this time, the Pastor just made the decsion himself)...and asked me to direct the handbells....:D:D:D Ok, so it's not EXACTLY what I wanted, but still, go me!

Hey congrats!

Congrats! So is this a paid position? And you never know, maybe the new choir director will need a break and you can take over her spot eventually as well...

ROCK THE BELLS... For the Lord! :p
