"just cool like that"

My Soror has spoken!! EEEYIIIIP!!

IOTAS05500 01-20-2002 07:40 PM

YO BRUH WE DON'T NEED SGRHO'S BUT MAYBE IT MAY BE GOOD FOR THEM

arRHOgance4 04-11-2002 09:08 PM

STOP THIS POINTLESS CONVO!!!!!

I TRY NOT TO POST TO THESE THINGS, BUT I CAN'T HELP IT. FOR THE LAST TIME(AND THIS IS NOT DIRECTED TO ANYONE IN PARTICULAR), SGRHO IS NOT LOOKING FOR "BRUHS" WHETHER IT BE IOTA, KAPPA, OR LITTLE JOE DOWN THE STREET. HOWEVER WE DO LIKE TO SHOW LOVE TO ALL FRATS, AND IF THEY GIVE US LOVE, PROPS, ETC...DON'T PERCEIVE IT AS ANYTHING MORE THAN IT IS...GREEK LOVE, RESPECT, AND ADMIRATION FOR THE LADIES OF SGRHO. NOW FROM REGION TO REGION MY SORORS MAY HAVE TIGHT BONDS WITH A FRAT AND THAT IS FINE...BUT UNTIL WE ARE LEGALLY AND CONSTITUTIONALLY BOUND TO A FRAT(WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN), WE, AS A WHOLE WILL CLAIM NO ONE FRAT AS OURS...THE LADIES OF SIGMA ARE "SORORS" TO THE LADIES OF SIGMA...SIMPLE AS THAT! :D

To the brothers of Iota Phi Theta :)

Hello everyone. Personally I don't get offended easily, so I'm cool... and this isn't a "bash" post. Just wanted to throw this out on the table...

*sigh* Are we THAT terrible that there has to be a mad discussion on "I don't want you!" and "I don't need you!"? I mean, is it that crucial... Everyone knows that you can stand on your own and we can stand on our own. Nobody "needs" nobody. Okay... that's established, but my goodness, would it be THAT bad if Iotas and SGRhos established a golden love on a univ. campus?

My point is, be comfortable in who you are enough to let things roll. If somebody wanted to show gold love, then hey... do your thing, but everyone knows that "IPHI is not looking for a sister organization" and that "SGRho has been standing alone since 1922." Independence is great, but EVERYBODY needs SOMEBODY in one way or another. Otherwise, why do we have NPHC if we're all so independent? Or why do we pass out flyers for our parties and hope that "we" are the only ones there?

Just a thought... Much love, people.

ON A SIDE NOTE:

IotaNET, are you a member of Kappa Kappa Psi?????

*hoping that he looks at the signature below*

Personally I'd like to see this thread disappear..........*clearing throat* [hint, hint].

Much luv to all Greek Letter Orgs and especially to the Rhoyally Blutiful ladies of SGRho.

IotaNet 04-16-2002 01:44 AM

Make the thread disappear?

@SunTzu -

I feel you frat but I think this is a topic that is worthy of discussion. As I've said over and over again, there is no official relationship between Iota and Sigma. Having said that, there are some unofficial bonds that have sprung up over time. As long as it's positive, I have no problem with it.

I think that Brothers need to temper their emotions with some discretion and sensitivity -- remember that this is a public forum and what is done/said here by one Brother affects all Brothers.

We may not all agree but we can agree to not be disagreeable.

suntzu1963 04-16-2002 06:53 PM

I understand your point

I understand your point IotaNet, but as we have seen this topic over and over again and the discuourse has gotten us nowhere.

It is redundant at best since we have other threads which deal with the same issue. Of course we can all agree to disagree and it is a public forum, but as you see with other topics in other forums that it is best when a topic has run its course to simply move on.

My feelings about any other organization are no longer at the forefront of why I want to move on. There are far more interesting issues (both greek-related and unrelated) to talk about than this topic at this time (and I've found myself starting a lot of threads when I know there are a bunch of other folks *with better topics than mine* out there).

Let's get this board back to the level of excitement that it reached when it was incorporated into the Iota National website.

The Outlaw thing must stop. Now.

To my Brothers of Iota:

I'm not sure wheter "Darkrage" is a Brother or not but I do agree with him on one thing: This "OUTLAW" thing has got to stop!

The origin of the term is something that has been twisted out of perspective for years and it was not especially applicable when it was coined and it CERTAINLY is not appropriate now.

When you study your history, you find that the term was a pejorative one that was applied under a unique set of circumstances. (And when you learn the ENTIRE scenario, you will be amazed at what REALLY happened!)

I would ask that we refrain from using the term and I know that soon Bro. Birdine will issue a directive to that effect.

Every "Outlaw" I have ever heard of ended up in jail or dead. Our legacy as a Fraternity is far more majestic than that.

this is how i view the situation:
alliance or not, SIGMA GAMMA RHO and IOTA PHI THETA have this much in common:

we both are organizations of men and women who were not afraid to step outside of what is popular or "in" or part of the majority...

we are organizations built of people who have enough heart to decide to be the decided minority--- we could have been anything that we wanted to, but we chose to take paths less traveled...
lets be real about it: it is HARD to be a SIGMA GAMMA RHO or an IOTA in our sphere of greek society: we have to work harder just to be recognized and more profoundly, commended for our accomplishments; we have become accustomed to representing as if there were 50 of us on the yard only when there are 10 of us, but still holding it down to the fullest; we are men and women who didn't have to be down with what everybody else was trying to do just to feel like we were pledging an organization that was worth our efforts...
we have this much in common:
we may be the youngest, lesser acknowledged, and lesser appreciated, but we are STRONGER because of what we chose...
i do think SIGMA GAMMA RHO doesn't have it as hard to the same degree as IOTA(we are some 40 years older)but we,for the most part are in the same boat...
we need to appreciate that. i commend the brothers of iota phi theta because i can relate! i think our alliance lies there-- although sometimes seen as being "on the bottome", we always RISE TO THE TOP!

sprinklemeluv 06-29-2002 08:52 PM

I agree. I personally would love to have some sort of work relationship with bros. of Iota seeing we have some commonality in commitment to go above and beyond because of our positions in greekdom. It will help our communities tremendously. Question: Are there any chapters of Iota Phi Theta in Alabama?

hmm...i wonder 06-29-2002 10:48 PM

HC?

How come..

When a member of group A says something offensive to Group B, then apologizes, all of the members of Group B feel it's necessary to comment on something that has already been commented on tenfold?

jojapeach 07-03-2002 12:58 AM

Can we stop with the hateration already?

If you're down with the Golden Love Affair, great! I think it's all mutual respect, not a need for a bro/sis relationship. If you're not, that's your opinon, but there's no need for dissing others.

BTW, if you're really grown, you'll post under a name that everyone recognizes because you can stand by your words.

Yes to Iota Phi Theta and Sigma Gamma Rhos

The last time I spoke on this issue was a couple of years ago, since then I have grown in the frat, with wisdom and experience. I feel differently about the SGRhos and so does my conrad. We have a new found respect for the Rhoyal Blue and Gold, Pretty poodles of Sigma Gamma Rho. Time can usally heal wounds, no matter how deep. Whatever the beef was, it has been long forgotten, and now we hug when we see each other.
I had an opportunity to see the SGRhos from Chi-town step and they were off the chain at our National Convention this year.
And we are having a party with the ladies too.
I love all the ladies of the NPHC, but the SGRhos are one of my favorite!

ladygreek 10-22-2003 08:08 PM

Well not to hijack the thread, but I am glad to see the number of new Iota posters to GC.

To my fellow Greeks of Iota and SGR--both of ya'll keep holding your own. The Divine 9 is divine because of all 9 of us are awesome!
