Well when I de-pleged I took an oath not to tell the secrects of my fraternity...but think Eqularital __________ or Isometric ________. It's a non-GLO

Something about this thread, other than the house you've described, smells a little dirty.
However, if you are for real - why ask strangers if you did the right thing? You're a grown up now (almost), so you should be able to answer for yourself whether quitting an organization that is a detriment to your social life and academic life is the right thing. I'm glad you changed from "one with chicks" to " like some parties where I can meet some nice ladies...not in a creepy way but I expect there atleast to be SOME females at a party...". I'm almost convinced this is a real situation. |
Well when I see the people from my old fraternity on campus they look at me like I'm worthless...and I feel like a total tool for quiting. Some of my old friends that were in the fraternity understand why I did what I did...and others haven't looked at me the same. I was just wondering what other greeks thought, and I'd perfer to keep things annoymous.

everything. I'm not saying they throw better parties or anything like that, but Greeksupporter wanted a fraternity with 'chicks'. The only greek letter orgs that I know are co-ed are those organizations and a few locals. In addition, it's really about the work one is willing to put into the org. If you don't want a house that smells like feet, clean it up and light some incense. If you want to meet girls (which is what I think Greeksupporter was after), go talk to them and invite them over for cookies or something. Have a few of them help with homework, then you can kill two birds with one stone. |
And even though you
already depledged, my advice could suit you throughout the rest of your undergraduate experice. As far as dirty looks and hard feelings, they will subside eventually, but people are rather adverse to those that quit mid-season. |

There's nothing wrong with that. It's funny though, my experience with the Triangles at Oklahoma U (I didn't go to OU, but spent a great deal of time socializing there) is that they pretty much always had the best grades on campus. When grade reports came out, the top house would be the "top house besides triangle" when it came to grades. |

Not the chapter I was in, their GPA always sucked and they seemed to like to drink more than study...and it's not chicks I was after too. I just don't like most of my parties to be male and yes I tried febreeze but it was like shooting a frieght train with a BB Gun...useless, and it was hard to get women to come over because we were considered to be 'nerds' or 'loosers' and it seemed to be that most of the guys there cared more about pornography rather than meeting real women. And I didn't quit mid season, because it was too hard. I quit because my grades are more important than my socail life or the fraternity I was in, I'm trying to get into Law School. I want to do Intelectual Property law, I can't let a whole semester be thrown away due to initation.

Well, I was, but I was also a journalism major. Never mind, I'm not backing up my point at all. Basically, what you just said is correct. One of the best trial lawyers in Boston got his bachelors in fine art, and is an accomplished painter. |
