I also come baring ice cold truth...
Speaking on behalf of the bruhz of A PHI A... brotherhood can come in any color! but sometimes we engage in petty conversations that make us look shallow (and have folks thinking that our despise for one another is deeper than it really is) I think that on many campuses (especially HBCU's) we take our uniqueness for granted (as BGLOs). I don't care if he's wearing blue and white, crimson and cream, brown and gold, or Gold and purple...I just want him to have my back when the thick gets thin! Yah Heard! The same goes with the sororities...We often don't think about ways we can work together as an entity to make a communal and global impact on the livelyhood of Black Folks (and conversely everyone else) As I once heard a speaker say...."if we act as though we are fivolous...the frivolous will want to join...if we act as though we are brothers/sister...than brothers/sisters will come" just some Oh six sense in a Blue & White World.... just a little shot out to the lovely ladies of ZETA PHI BETA Aaaaaaaaaa-Zeeeeee (keep it on the hush, don't want yo' bruhz to come get me) ha ha ha! 06, Ice Cold Kreator |
As an undergrad, the one thing I did not see enough of on the unity tip was events sponsered by more than one Sorority. Events would b co-hosted by a frat and a sorority but not often two sororities working together. While image is not everthing, there is some value to public displays of unity.

I'm in undergrad, and I attend a predominantly white school. Our chapters are really small with the largest NPHC org having 9 members.
It's so funny sitting at the NPHC meeting and see people be so fake to each other. i mean they sit they and say the same things every week, we have to support each other, blah blah, blah... but these are the same people who will schedule an event the same day you have an event and pretend they didn't know, even though everyone has everyone else's calendar. It's almost annoying because I've been to campuses where there is mad love, I mean everyone gets along and support each other, but then i've been on campuses worse than mine. |
The part that I really dislike is that the animosity is also seen by GDI's and then they feel that its okay to disrespect orgs because of it. They hear what other orgs say...and go on with that to...the stereotypes also. You hear folks saying," Oh I would never be in that org because they are this or they are that." But in reality...THEY WOULD NEVER KNOW WHAT WE ARE! It just hurts some times to hear folks carry on like that...WHERE IS THE RESPECT FROM OTHER ORGS AND WELL AS GDI'S!?????
