I'm afraid of becoming like my maternal grandmother. I share 1/4 of her genes and she was a big influence in my early childhood. But, my mom is NOTHING like her, and she shares half of her genes, lol. Maybe the same will happen to me, that I will turn out to be nothing like her.

My confession....
Dear out-of-state extended family members that think they know me so well:
I need to confess something to you: I DON'T PLAN TO GO TO LAW SCHOOL FOR AT LEAST 5-10 YEARS FROM NOW, IF I EVEN DECIDE IN THAT TIME TO ATTEND AT ALL!!! I have decided in the past year that I'd like to pursue a creative outlet in order to determine whether I'd be better suited in this outlet. I'm interested in becoming an entrepreneur in the following careers: Travel Agent, Interior Decorator and Bridal Consultant. I may pursue real estate as well to bring it full circle, but ultimately it's MY decision. :cool: I understand that you may want the best for me, but in the end, as a 28 year old woman, it's MY LIFE!!! I don't feel the need to apologize to any of you for changing my mind and pursuing what may make me happy in the long run. Also, last time I checked, the only opinions that count in my book are those of my close friends, my 15 year old brother who also wants to become an entrepreneur by becoming a caterer, and my mother (bump Pops and other siblings). My mother and friends don't see anything wrong with my decision and they support me wholeheartedly. Why can't you? GCers, I'm sorry this is soooooo long, but I had to get this heavy weight off of my shoulders b4 I exploded to these saditty family members of mine. I feel soooooo much better now. Wow... Confessions are good for the soul... But, come on now. We aren't all perfect, but (and I can only speak for myself,) when I do things that aren't in line with the beliefs I outwardly claim... I talk about it with God, and only God. But, lets say I need to get it off my chest, in say, a forum... I surely would say it, get it off my chest, and let it go...I don't defend the wrong I do...
This is not meant to be judgemental, but, you are a lady. Regardless of how uninhibited you may be, you are still a lady. I respect your honesty, and surely don't want you to feel bad, because, after all, this thread is about confessions... But you can confess and keep your self- respect all at the same time. PerfectVerse and others... I feel you on the money and spending thing... It sure is tough to make good, sound monetary decisions (like saving and investing) when there are so many cute shoes in the world... |
