Hee hee playing the waiting game:) This is fun!:D I love how the excitement each day brings of waiting to hear from people and each day the desire to join a GLO grows even more (and no I'm not being sarcastic..I really am enjoying each day in this process).:D

I have news!

I'm going to an event!
It is a very important event. For those of you who have gone to one as a PNAM, what did you wear? :p

P.S. Sorry to seem crazy this past week. The state achievement tests are next week here in Ohio, and as a teacher..oh the stress..lol:p

*edited to take out the jeans thing. I know you can't wear jeans to this event..that is why I said this is a no jeans type thing...I didn't want people getting upset*:)

Jeans? At our Founders’ Day, no one even wears pants. It’s always skirt and blouse or a dress. Your best bet is to ask your hostess.

Unless it's specified as casual (which is pretty much...NEVER), I never wear jeans to an alumnae meeting or function.

ms_gwyn 03-03-2006 03:00 AM

Congrats on the invite!

Ask the hostess about attire....I've never worn jeans (and don't plan on it, unless it's a philantrophic event and is called for), but all the meetings that I attended (and still attend), I have worn business casual attire, except for my pledging ceremony.

Each GLO is different and within each AC is different.

Better safe than sorry.

For our Founder's Day, which is coming up in a month :D , the dress code is business casual. It will be my first, and I'm very excited about it-I always wanted to attend as a PNAM, but there is ritual involved, so I couldn't.

Can't wait to hear about it though!!

Saying it's a Founders Day event narrows it down on who the group is......(just a warning)

MJo19 03-03-2006 04:57 PM

Yes it may, but I did not say when the event is. It just says a Founder's Day event. I did not give a month, day, date or anything. It could be anytime. Thank you for the heads up though.

JennRN 03-03-2006 05:24 PM

Hehe, start the guessing now!!

By the way, I know it's not us, because I wasn't allowed to go to a DG Founder's Day as a PNAM, because there is ritual involved.

She is right, it does narrow things down some. For instance, I now know you are not pursuing AOII, as our Founder's Day is celebrated around Jan. 2 and Chapters have celebrated by now :)

I would recommend wearing "business casual." I wore a nice pair of black wool gaberdine pants and a white Talbots blazer. I think a tailored look of high quality fabrics would make you feel your best.

Many of the women will be wearing the sorority's colors, but since you're a PNM, I probably would not do that yet.

Also check with the hostess to see if there's anything you can bring. I brought a dessert, and I also brought some old cell phones as they were collecting them for a women's shelter. They will be very greatful that you offered even if there is nothing for you to bring.
