One of my main problems is that I "put too much thought" into multiple choice questions. My doctor told me to cover up the answers and read the question first. Then try to think about what I think the answer is. After I think I know I see if that answer is one of the choices. This really helps me with tests. Also I get extra time when testing and I usually take the test outside of the regular classroom. Sometimes I will go to the professors office and take it there.
I am a very organized person and I like to make outlines of information from class. I will write notes in class in outline format and go over them when I am studying. After I go over it I will make notecards of the information and test myself. This may not work for everyone but it helps me. Also I sometimes record the professors in class so that I can listen to it when I am studying. Not all professors like this so I have to ask permission first.
That's really all I can think of right now. I will let you know if I can think of anything else. Hope that this can help a little.

As I said earlier, it is important to "tap" into the person's learning stlye via an inventory.

Here, Teachers are required to do one for every student in the department (on their caseload).

While searching, I saw that one has a LSI for older students.

It's good for students without disabilities. All students are SPECIAL. :D

This is one of the main reasons that I would like to have her tested. She does not do well on the timed exercises I have given her.

Thanks for the other tips as well. Her other issue is confidence. She will say she does not know how to do something/does not understand, but in reality she wants reassurance.

I have confidence problems also. I will say that I understand something when I don't just so I won't look stupid. That was one of my problems in school, I would not raise my hand and ask questions.
