It was a lot tougher to get anything cut in those days. Digital technology has made it much easier -- about anyone can record in their basement.

That's a lot like my boyfriend and me! Our sororities have very similar stereotypes at UK, so as happened with you, he thought that I was going to be an ultra-conservative, rich girl. I also wondered what his problem was, not being in a fraternity.

After a full year of friendship and learning more about each other, we finally figured out that we liked one another and have been inseparable since then!

When I first met her I thought :She is fat, short and ugly. Why would I date her? Plus she had this annoying laugh that sounded like a hyena on cocaine. Yeah, it was weird. But she grew on me. Probably because she put out on the first date. It wasn't really a date. It was more like, I asked her if she needed a ride home since she was just standing at the corner of the street alone. So whatever, she gave me dome within the first 10 minutes. Meh. Today we have two wonder children.

Their names are Rudey and Rudeys Siister.

I think the last two stories are the best ones in the thread.

My sister in law HATED my brother because he called her rice head and picked on her for being Asian. She's not Asian, doesn't even look Asian, he didn't think she was Asian, but all she would ever eat was rice she brought from home.
Several of his friends, him, and Tracey were once in the garage getting ready to go play paintball, and my mother walked outside and saw a person from the back with a ponytail. She said, "Brian, is that a girl?" He replied, "No, it's Tracey."
They've been married for 3 1/2 years, have a beautiful baby girl named Sydney, and are blissfully happy.

Sometimes it happens, but you don't realize you fell "in love at first sight" until later.

The first time I met my now-fiance I thought he was so cute, and apparently he thought the same...but we didn't meet again until a few months later. Two months after we started dating, I told my friend I was going to marry him. Almost a year later, to that day, he proposed. Looking back, there was definitely a spark there when we first met.

My fiance and I have gone to school together since middle school. I thought he was such a nerd - all I knew about him for years was that he knew how to build a nuclear bomb and that he had a lot of porn. And he wore denim shorts EVERY DAY - even in January. Really, I was pretty horrified and just kind of avoided him. We finally began to talk to each other during our senior year of high school, and I realized he was actually not scary. We wound up at the same university, and started dating dating freshman year. Now, four years later, we're still together :)

(And I'm very happy to say he no longer owns a single pair of denim shorts! :D)

When I first saw my husband he was wearing light-colored tapered jeans, high-top tennis shoes, a waffle-knit long underwear type shirt and had a shaved head. I thought the face was cute but everything else, not so much (this was in 2000, btw). But he plied me with beer and the more we talked, the more I looked past the horrible clothes and got to know him (though the beer probably helped a little.)

By the time he called me again three days later, we talked for two hours on the phone. When I hung up, I knew he was the one I would marry. We've been together for 5.5 years, married for 2.5.

Thankfully, he's gotten *much* better at dressing (with a little help from me) and no longer shaves his head, which is good because he has the most gorgeous, thick, curly red hair (such a waste on a boy!).

My immediate impression of my boyfriend was "Okay he's 22, and a hot, muscular, military guy. He must be an asshole." I was convinced that he was ingnoring me on purpose because he was an asshole. It turns out he liked me alot, but didn't talk to me because he was really shy. ;)

Heh, well, my boyfriend and I met through a local punk rock website. He apparently liked my posts and thought I was witty. Only two nerds can fall in love over sentence structure and word choice.

So we chatted online for about 3 months, then made a date...sort of on purpose the day my brother left for college (parents were away). When I met him, we just...clicked. I wanted to kiss him so bad that night, and we were both flirting hardcore. But being a big fat chicken, I just shook his hand that night.

A week later ,we were both going to the same show. We met up there, hung out the whole time, again flirting like CRAZY. He almost kissed me 3 different times. Finally I ended up kissing him in his car when he let me use his cell phone.

A few days later he stopped by my house to say hi on his way home from college...again, goosebumps, the whole nine.That night, however, my mom asked about him. More specifically, his age. He was 21 at the time...and I was 16. Subsequently banned from seeing him. Misery ensues.

Parents enforce ban for the better part of 4 months. We saw eachother once or twice during that time on a sneaking basis, but one time I just ran into him in downtown Pittsburgh because I decided to walk the other way to my bus stop. We kissed. Awesome.

But the phone calls were frustrating. So close yet so far. So many times he was like, "i dont know if this is good I dont know if this is what I want blah blah blah.."

Parents still hated him because of his age, refused to meet him. I finally convinced him and my dad to meet at the arts center I was going too...such a stressful night, but dad and Pat ended up getting along quite well. After that, it got better, and we were allowed to go out on group dates. Then in January, when I got my DL, we were allowed our first "alone" date.

And that's when it happened. We went to a mexican restaurant and then went to half-price books to look around (like i said, nerdy)...and he just comes up to me, puts his arms on my hips and whispers into my ear, "I'm so glad we're a couple now".

...uhhh....ok? We're a couple? But I just went for it...4 years later I think my parents love him more than me!!! And there's wee talk of "future" together...so rough starts dont always mean crash and burn ;-)

So basically you were sexually abused as a child by a child molestor?
