RACooper,

This thread is full of jokes, satire, political tongue-n-cheek jokes. Please stop trying to derail it with an O'Reilly/ACLU diatribe.

PLEASE!! There are plenty of threads for that.

THESE ARE JUST JOKES.....

12 Politically Correct Days of Christmas

A partridge in a pear tree rehash in light of our over sensitive times

OK, everyone,

sing along, cadence notwithstanding ...

On the 2th day of the Eurocentrically imposed midwinter festival, my Significant Other in a consenting adult, monogamous relationship gave to me:

TWELVE males reclaiming their inner warrior through ritual drumming,

ELEVEN pipers piping (plus the 8-member pit orchestra made up of members in good standing of the Musicians Equity Union as called for in their union contract even though they will not be asked to play a note),

TEN melanin deprived testosterone-poisoned scions of the patriarchal ruling class system leaping,

NINE persons engaged in rhythmic self-expression,

EIGHT economically disadvantaged female persons stealing milk-products from enslaved Bovine-Americans,

SEVEN endangered swans swimming on federally protected wetlands,

SIX enslaved Fowl-Americans producing stolen non-human animal products,

FIVE golden symbols of culturally sanctioned enforced domestic incarceration,

(NOTE: after members of the Animal Liberation Front threatened to throw red paint at my computer, the calling birds, French hens and partridge have been reintroduced to their native habitat. To avoid further Animal-American enslavement, the remaining gift package has been revised.)

FOUR hours of recorded whale songs

THREE deconstructionist poets

TWO Sierra Club calendars printed on recycled processed tree carcasses

and...

ONE Spotted Owl activist chained to an old-growth pear tree.

Merry Christmas Happy Chanukah. Good Kwanzaa <=== all printed in strike-out text

Oh, heck!

Happy* Holiday!!!!

(unless otherwise prohibited by law)

* Unless, of course, you are suffering from Seasonally Affected Disorder (SAD). If this be the case, please substitute this gratuitous call for celebration with a suggestion that your have a thoroughly adequate day.

Haha...when I worked retail last Christmas we had a couple of people who would say "Happy Holidays," and one of them got bitched out by some guy. I just avoided it completely and would only respond with a, "You, too!"

What IS apparent is that the 84% of Americans who DO celebrate Christmas are getting fed up with catering to that 16% of malcontents.
You don't speak for all 84% of us. Many of us in the religious sector like to remember that our Jewish friends don't celebrate Christmas.

And we thank you for it...really. It gets annoying when people don't care that your Jewish and it's always Merry Christmas etc, even though they know.

I promised that I wouldn't post more on this meant-to-be-funny thread concerning the "Politically Correct Christmas Card". For those who don't really know me - which seems to be most of the people of Greek Chat - I keep my word.

Buttonz, I do wish you a very Happy Chaunakah, along with all the other Jewish members of Greek Chat.

My personal favorite is when people just buy a big box of Christmas cards and send you one that talks about Christ's love for you and all that jazz even though they know you're Jewish.

'Merry Christmas' backed by House
Bill part of a cultural debate

By NANCY BADERTSCHER
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 02/01/06

The Georgia House on Tuesday charged into the national "war on Christmas."

House members approved a bill that prevents state and local governments from banning their employees and students from verbal expressions celebrating any public or legal holiday.

"Simply put, in the state of Georgia, it's going to be OK to say 'Merry Christmas' in the public workplace and in our schools," said Rep. Clay Cox (R-Lilburn), the bill's sponsor.

The vote was 136-25.
