LTS

Hey, I am going too but we don't have any info on it. Could someone give me some background... such as dates, costs, etc. Thanks!!

PhisigWarner 07-10-2002 08:59 PM

hey guys...

Let's remember that we are not the only ones that look at our message boards other GLOs have acess to them too. I'm not sure if LITP and PSLAM are Phi Sig Serets or not but I do know that I had to be a sister before I was told what LITP stood for. I think It's great that we share this info with eachother but at the same time maybe we should be aware of what we should and should not discuss on GC.;)

P.S. PhiSigQT, please don't think that i'm tryin to play you or make an example out of you. I only have love for my sisters
 but I know that sometimes we innocently slip up... and we need to catch eachother.
No hard feelins.

I don't think LITP and PSLAM are Phi Sig Secrets. Our DCP signed things LITP and LIOB almost as soon as we colonized. And when we were getting things from the expansion team they also had that signature on it.

AngelPhiSig 07-16-2002 12:01 AM

PSLAM is NOT secret, but I know that LITP needs to be kept Phi Sig, from as much as I know about my chapter and others...

It's a lot of fun!!!

HI All,

I went to LTS in 2001 as a delegate and Convention in 2002 as just a collegiate paying her own way. Both are a lot of fun although Convention is more formal since that is where they vote on Supreme Council and any constitutional changes.

LTS will be back in New Brunswick, NJ a short train ride from NY so if you can afford it pay for a room a day or two ahead of time and spend time taking the train to NY. All the West Coast and Canadian Chapters arrive on Wednesday so while everyone was checking on in Thursday we got up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the train to NY. Spent about 5 hours there and then took the train back in time for opening session.

It's great getting to meet a ton of sisters and all having a common bond of Phi Sig. Being a newly installed chapter at the time I learned a lot about traditions that long established chapters had. There were definitely lots of talks as someone said, some on new things others just refreshers. We did a walk for the NKF along the river near the hotel. Did a philanthropic/recruitment activity. Had a Foundation Dinner and Raffle and the next night the Awards Banquet. There was also an installation ceremony for an Alumnae chapter that was cool to see. One thing that I really enjoyed and wished I had brought a tape recorder for was a Song Fest led by the Chapter Consultants. they didn't do that at Convention this year and I'm hoping they will do it at LTS again.

Besides meeting all the various sisters, national personnel, etc one of the best nights was at the Raffle for Foundation during the Foundation Dinner. Nash (a national volunteer) was the MC, she would call out the number of the winning ticket and was absolutely hilarious. At one point a gentleman won like 3 or 4 times in a row so she auctioned off his seat. When National Personnel won they would often challenge regions, sisters, alums, divisions, etc to bid on the ticket. I remember our DCP, Joanne Barrick, challenged the sisters of Division 30 to buy her winning ticket. As the auction went on she said she would match the winning bid - you should have seen her face as it reached $100. The thing is most of the items weren't worth that much but you knew it was going to the Foundation so you didn't feel bad about it. I won a couple of bids and because of the dollar amount was able to join the Rosebud Society that night. And actually ended up moving up to the Red Rose giving level. (Like someone said bring lots of money).

Usually Burr, patterson, Auld are at the events as well as the Phi Sig Shoppe so again bring lots of money.

Just be prepared to have fun, learn lots of new things, meet some fabulous new sisters, and absolutely exhausted from spending all night with all the sisters talking :) I'm hoping to go back to LTS this year if I can afford it. For non-delegates it's about $500 plus airfare and if you arrive early then the cost of the extra nights hotel room (call CO and see if you can split the cost with other sisters from your chapter that are going).

Hopefully we can all meet up at LTS,
Carolyn

Hey,
I'm waiting for info too! I went to LTS in 1999 and convention in 2000! I was delegate for both. Now as alum I'm dying to go back, make more connections, etc....I don't really have the money but that's what credit cards are for :p

Lts is great. It is pretty much what is says - Leadership training School! so lots activities on leadership, etc. I learned a lot and had loads of fun. I'm pretty shy though, so it's tough for me to make friends in just a weekend...I kept in better contact with the girls i roomed with at convention.

It is just a wonderful time overall. I'm gonna feel weird going as alum since no alum from chapter go except the advisor...oh well, i'm still young at heart!

LTS 2003 Dates

Hi There,

I contacted CO and here is the information about when and where LTS will be this year. It will be July 31 to August 3 at the Hyatt in New Brunswick, NJ.

CO didn't have what the fees will be for non-delegates to attend so I'm hoping that they are around the same price as Convention last year which was $550 plus airfare. I hope I can go, work has already agreed to give me the time off.

Carolyn

p.s. we just pinned 1 new member tonight from our COB activities during winter break. Its only our first week of Spring Semester so wish us well on our COB for the rest of the Semester

MooseGirl 02-03-2003 12:32 AM

Thanks for the info! and congrats on pinning! My girls haven't pinned yet, i think they're still having cob events...often many PNMs just decide to wait til the fall, so we'll see..

Anyway, i plan on going to LTS...I won't have a job by that time(well prolly not) so I should have all the time in the world....money is just the issue...

Someone said that it would be cheaper to go on your own and just meet the rest of everyone there. I think I might do that.

New Brunswick? How far is that from NYC? Is that where Montclair U is?

JessicMc 03-05-2003 11:13 PM

Just an FYI...

New Brunswick is about 1/2 and hour- 45 minutes from NYC. That's not where Montclair is (that's up a bit further), but it is the home of Rutgers University.

I'm planning on going this year, so hope to see some of you there!

PrincessHeather 03-08-2003 10:31 PM

I am planning on going too!! I hope I do. We should all have a GC meeting spot and meet up to take a group picture! Last year only one rep from my chapter went, but this year I think we can send two again. I am sure we will plan more later. Hey Sf ladies, if you are going we should all fly together! that would be cool if all the cali phi sigs could fly in together, but I doubt that will work! (you never know). But don't worry I will keep you all posted if I am still going as it gets closer!
