The whole board is pretty disgusting. There are some things that are ok, but there are tons of things that are very distasteful. As a graduate of USC I hope that the bigoted remarks are from a small group of people or from others who don't attend USC. I don't think (hope) the majority of people are opposed to the Omegas in the Greek village. I mean really, what's the big deal? Greeks are Greeks and while there are differences between HBGLOs and HWGLOs, we all have similar purposes and ideals.

I think it is absolutely disgusting what people said. But the freedom of speech gives people the right to say whatever they please and that's why the university won't pursue the haters.

However, not once did it cross my mind that it could have been someone from a rival school like Clemson. NOT ONE TIME did I ever hear anything as vulgar as this the entire time I was at Clemson. The Clemson and USC rivalry is bitter, but we still respect each other, especially greeks, because we are united as South Carolinians. So it very well could have been some other racist bastard from somewhere else.

Freedom of speech under the law does not really apply. There's no such thing as complete free speech, in general, so posting on a message board is no different. There are policies that posters of most boards are subject to.

The people are probably USC students. Regardless of where they are from, it is in the University's interest to wish to censor the site or just offer public disclaimers for damage control.

Anyone who has visited those boards, out of freak curiousity like myself, will know that this isn't an isolate situation. It's been like that from day one, and USC isn't the only school talked about in racist language. There may have been one or two USC students involved, but the majority of it is probably from the rest of the dipshits who sit there and think it's cool that they can get away with this stuff.

They post racist and sexist things there constantly, as well as various groups' rituals. It's a trainwreck, and I wish something WOULD be done to take it down. I think the only way they have to go is through Proboards, the host. But then it would only be a matter of time before they find another host. The environment and attitude of the people there remind me of Kazoo, with just a different color background.

The environment and attitude of the people actually remind me of Greekchat, but in less denial of the bigotry and intolerance of its members.

I have to wonder how many of those folks are actually Greek. And, yes, the racism there is stomach-turning. You'd think ProBoards would've shut it down a long time ago.

I wish they would shut it down or moderate it. While I am all for free speech, the opinions expressed on that board are disgusting. Unfortunately, there is enough information on other subjects about the USC Greek system that let me know that there are USC Greeks posting on that board.

I can only hope it is a few bad apples spoiling the whole bunch. I think there are many people who are happy for the Omegas building a house in the Greek Village. But I am not a current student, and my mind is obviously much more open than some of those posting based on the comments.

Some of the commentary and pictures on that board really upset me - and I'm white! I can't imagine how a black person would feel if I am bothered by it.

what makes me disgusted is the things that they think is considered "fratty" or not. also, the racial and name calling of other greek organizations.

Now that I see the registration criteria, I am not completely convinced that most of the outward bigots on that site are USC students. I am not completely convinced that they they aren't students, either. Whatever the case, USC's name is mixed up with this mess and the administration should just reiterate that it isn't the school's site and there are people who potentially are not USC students.

The site still reminds me of Greekchat.
