How to branch out from the comfort zone.
|
I've learned some many things as a Theta Chi at Radford Univeristy. I've learned that loyalty is more than a word, or even an abstract idea, its a sereis of actions that determine your morality. I've learned how, and when, to speak my mind. I've learned how (and how not to) effectively manage people, I've learned leadership, I've learned how to express myself with out offending others. I've learned how to give speeches that willinfluence my auidence. (Thanks public speaking guy Thad [he was a Delta Chi alum, btw])
I've learned how to be a better brother to my biological brother. I've learned how to be a better person, all around. Also, it strengthend like no other previous association in my life, my following of the Anceint and Noble tradtion of Chivarly. |
I. Communication - This is a big skill that I've refined over the past two years. Bringing a colony of a national org to campus--especially as the initiator--was alot of hard work that took up time and effort, with tons of ups and down. I've learned how to better coomunicate with the school, nationals, interestees, as well as giving multiple presentations for my organization.
II. How to get things done, ie. Efficiently-run meetings, advertisement, budget process, etc III. I learned how to work well with a large group of women! ..and still learning :-) |
Oh, I forgot about this ONE:
SACRIFICE! of time, money, SLEEP to get things done successfully! |
1 - How to delegate
2 - The fact that not everyone has the same priorities, and that's ok. |
