DU and Beta long expanded to the same parts of the country, Beta is a an old line group, it doesn't suprise me that the oldest chapter is a a Beta group.
The 150 year history of DU reports that in the late 19th century Beta and DKE were considered to be the strongest competitors to DU, Beta in the midwest and Deke in New England.
One of the reasons DU expanded in the late 19th century was to
keep up with larger groups like Beta, Fiji and Phi Delt.

For Theta Delts, Kappa Charge (Tufts University in Medford, MA) is the longest Charge in continuos existance, since its founding in 1856.

ASA's is Alpha Beta at Truman State.

AXO's oldest chapter in continuous operation would be the Alpha chapter at DePauw. Est 1885

Alpha Phi's oldest chapter is our Alpha Chapter at Syracuse, founded in 1872. Most of our original chapters are still in existence.

Harvard's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha of Massachusetts, was chartered in 1779. It merged with the Radcliffe chapter in 1995 and is now known as Alpha Iota of Massachusetts.

It is the oldest continuously operating chapter of any Greek-letter group. I'm very proud to be a member. :)

Illinois Alpha: On April 28, 1867, at Monmouth College!

i would guess that our oldest continuous chapter is epsilon chapter at the university of arkansas.

in order to be eligible for membership in the intersorority conference(now npc) sororities could only have chapters in institutions of full college or university rank. since our alpha chapter was founded at what was then a teachers college, zta had to relinquish alpha chapter.in 1909, zta became the 13th member of the intersorority conference. happily, in 1949 zta was able to reactivate alpha chapter.

beta, gamma and delta chapters were all founded at women's
colleges, which no longer allow sororities.

Our Alpha chapter at Miami University in Oxford, OH has been in existence since 1902.

Next Monday we will celebrate 103 wonderful years of sisterhood!!

Our oldest chapter, Illinois Alpha (Monmouth) was founded in 1867 but because the college banned fraternities, the chapter was closed in 1878 but was rechartered in1928. Our oldest chapter in continuous existance is our fourth chapter, Indiana Alpha, founded at Asbury University (now DePauw) in 1870.

I believe the oldest continually running chapter at Otterbein is Sigma Alpha Tau (Owls) 1910 and for the men....maybe Pi Kappa Phi (Country Club) 1908 (could be wrong about that as I'm not a member of either). Most chapters here have had at least 1 refounding/rebirth though.

Beta at WVU isn't the oldest chapter, but it is the oldest in continuous existence here. Almost 106 yrs.
