That's the whole "speech" thingy he did, some of it isn't in that clip. I'm sorry I'm tired of hearing about this. Yes, the poor black AND WHITE people stranded on the highways and Super Dome and convention center needed aid first. Actually I'd say that the HOSPITAL needed aid first. But there are so many people who are stranded, not just the poor and black.

Since Kanye is such a pro on Jesus to make a song about him, maybe he should think about what Jesus would do and help EVERYONE, not just "his people".

Wow. :( Something tells me I should ignore this thread from now on. My blood pressure won't take it.

I was thinking the same thing. Whenever race is brought up this place goes crazy.

I agree. If anything, they'll probably go up.

LOL at the tape delay person who was so busy listening for cuss words that he totally missed this. I would bet someone is wearing a paper hat and learning how to work the french frier this morning. :p

There's a McDonalds right across Sixth Avenue from 30 Rock.

I can understand Kanye's frustration--he was just saying what a lot of people are thinking. When you look at who was unable to evacuate...well, it tells you a lot about the divide in this country. If you're observant you've always known it was there, but this was the first time in a few years that the divide has been so blatant and in your face.

The whole situation is heartbreaking.

The race card is played out.

West is just another idiot trying to capitalize on this tragedy. It's pretty messed up to see someone doing that when their efforst and energy should be used in other more helpful means.

Maybe if the rescue workers could go into these area's without being mobbed or shot at by the people they are trying to help it wouldn't be the tragic situation it is right now.

I have a few friends down there that luckily I have heard from and their stories of how things are going are just sick. If you don't have a weapon to protect yourself, chances are you are going to be robbed of whatever you have.

People are shooting at electric company workers, red cross personel bringing in aid, medics, etc. The national guard can't concentrate on what's important b/c they are escorting people out of the area so they don't get carjacked and killed.

Kanye is bitching about how it's the gov'ts fault but ignoring the real situation of how it is there.

So can you tell us what Bush was doing after Katrina hit New Orleans and flooded it?

No, can you? I'm willing to bet he was trying to figure out how the mayor of NO and governor of LA have managed to be so woefully unprepared to handle a situation that they should have had an effective strategy for.

I'm willing to bet that he was playing guitar, and still on vacation:

Let's check the date of that photo, shall we? September 1, 2005.

No, he was STILL ON HIS VACATION. So kanye was on point. And due to a recent interview I saw in which someone I met was in the mix in New Orleans, he DEFINITELY was on point.

Just curious, where was this photo taken and in what context? Could you please supply the source?
