Hello, illustrious sister-sorors of SGRho!
This is my first time posting here, and I feel happy and honored to do so!
I just want to give a shout out on your forum to an Alpha man because of his astute observation... Quote:
this is an IMPRESSIVE quote--I will use it with my younger female relatives as well. thank you for your input! As for the topic, one of my life rules is: I must ALWAYS treat others as I would want to be treated, because one day that might be MY situation! Have a blessed day, everyone! :) |
Stand up for what you believe in, no matter what.

Sisters and Brothers
You all have some wonderful rules for living. Jihad1906 and Trublubu2, I especially liked yours.

1. Be nice to people because you never know when you will encounter them again. (You should be nice anyway cause God don't like ugly!):D
2. If you want it done right, do it yourself. 3. Never assume, it can get you into trouble. 4. If you want your dreams to come true, stop waiting for something to happen and get out there and do it! 5. Always wear clean underwear and socks. You never know when you may have to go to the hospital. |

Who can love you if you can't love yourself?

This is such a great thread! I love the positivity. I hope that it's ok if I had my thoughts.
I would say that I live by: Figure out what truly makes *you*happy, not what looks good or prestigious to others Don't give others the power to excessively control your emotions Meditate every now and then to get in touch with your inner self LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS :) |
Some of mine:
**WHATEVER it is that you do with your time, do it well. Even if you do something bad, like lie, don't do it poorly, its a waste of a crime (I have a serious problem with stupidity :D ). **Have a plan A, B, C and D. None of them may work, but the process of thinking them through will help you to understand what you want and what you can't deal with. **Be helpful and giving, but don't overextend yourself. **If you realize that you always do all the calling with a friend, try not calling them at all and see how long it takes them to pick up the phone. If they don't, you'll know they weren't really your friend, so let go. **Don't let your past mess up your future. Use the bad things that happen to you as a learning experience, learn what you neeed to, then throw the hurt and pain away and keep in trucking. **Don't let other people control your emotions. Just because, a few people out of the hundreds of millions in this country have been bad to you does not mean that the next one will. Always allow individuals the benefit of the doubt, but stay smart and aware of the lessons you have learned. **Life is too short not to enjoy it. Don't work ALLLLLL the time. Its ok to stop for a second and enjoy your life. Don't lose sight of what (or who) you're working for. |
Sorhors and friends,
BirthBlue4, I really like the statement about always doing the calling and friendship because after all friendship is a two-way street. Always put God first in what ever you do! Standing firm on my decisions and not compromising my morals even if its not the popular thing to do. Don't let others put you in the cultural box! What do I mean by the cultural box? Don't let others tell you that black folks don't do that sport, wear those clothes, live in that neighborhood, do that hobby, study that subject in school, listen to that music, etc. Live a little and think outside the box!
