..I had to get home Thursdays @ 8 to watch the Cosby Show
..couldn't miss A Different World or Martin
..Saturday mornings were all about NBC with great cartoons and Saved by the Bell..[yes, sad to admit, but I was in love with Zack!]
..[in my small town] you had to have a new pair of Reebok Classics
..TV was interesting..now it's all the same..very boring
..you had to have a pair of stonewashed jeans and the coat to match if you had it like that:)

those were the days.....LOL!

JJ got shot - when? I never knew that? Damn, Damn, Damn.

...Marvin Gaye got shot? I cried like a baby. Not because I was a fan - I was only a little girl. But because I couldn't believe his father shot him.

...President Reagan got shot? Again, I was a little girl, but I was shocked. They pulled us all into a room to watch the nescast in school.

...The space shuttle took off...up.... up and ..... blew up? Again I was like :eek:

... we listened to our parents old vinyl records & that crackly sound it made? i.e. Peaches & Herb, Parliament :o ...


....and speaking of Parliament, remember when every body was saying "a ga ga goo ga, a ga ga goo ga, a ga ga goo ga ga"... songs made so much sense back then. ;)

I thought it was some sick April Fool's Joke until I saw it on news. I don't know what shocked me the most - 1) he died the day before his birthday, 2) he died on April Fool's Day or 3) his father shot him.

we used to record songs off the radio?

we could never stop the tape fast enough and always ended up getting the DJ's voice at the end of the song?

we used to rewind tapes just a little so the tape didn't sound so "homemade"?

we used to share tapes with our friends at school - "Yo listen to this - this joint is HOT!"

the tapes would pop, twist, or ravel brown tape all in your recorder?:(

we used to wear name belts (they came back in style)?

(those in the band) we used to sit down and tried to figure out the notes to the songs so we could play them on game night?

(girls) we would write down the words to songs and pass them on to friends, or write silly letters using song names?

. . . you'd play Chinese Jumprope (a long connected circle "rope" made of large rubber bands that you'd have to perform certain jumps in a pattern to make it to the next level -- move it up on your legs -- I was pretty good, I remember making it to the waist) with your friends?

. . . hot sausages (the red ones) you'd get from the park or "ice cream man" after cheerleading practice?

Remember when you could actually "battle" by dancing?

-when guys used to get haircuts with their names in the back of their heads?

God I remember Video Soul....I used to love the countdown....

-when every song on the radio was not about having sex...remember Candy Girl? We got our thang? to name a few...

I know! Nobody believed me when I told them. They thought I was April fooling because I was always joking.
