buy another shoe tree and put your shoes on it. kindly point out that you need a little more space in the closet, and suggest that you all not rush out and buy new furniture-ask her to live with the leather furniture for a while before any new furniture decisions are made(i love leather-it can look very chic). it appears to me she is marking her territory. buying furniture together is just one more nail in the coffin of bachelorhood, buddy-and it doesn't sound like you are totally ready to give up bachelorhood yet. i wish you good luck.

I think your place sounds pretty sweet... especially that office - that is awesome!
I agree that the fridge thing is weird. But get used to seeing the lotions and hair dryers and whatnot; they're not going away any time soon. Good luck with the girlfriend! |
I'm not moving in with a guy until we're married. Who wants to go through what you're going through?
On second thought, maybe you just picked the wrong gal. |

hmm though. hard to comment on the decorating disagreement without knowing the lady and her tastes. did you like the way her apartment looked prior to her moving in with you? my husband and i lived together prior to marriage mostly out of necessity - we moved to florida from tennessee alone and sharing the bills was much easier right out of college. he never really tried to decorate too much. he has his office that i don't touch - all golf balls, pike stuff, and tennessee football. he makes fun of the formal living room, calling it the "tea room" and doesn't understand why it doesn't have a television. i would imagine that a lot of it has to do with moving directly from a fraternity house into a place with me - he never had a need to furnish a home.... but i digress. just make sure you go furniture shopping together and both make compromises. she doesn't get 100% girl and you don't get 100% boy. maybe she can spruce up a formal living area, but the comfortable living area / tv room stays as is. maybe you pick the colors you would like and she picks the style - or vice versa. she picks the couch, but you pick the wall paint and the artwork. good luck! |

Did she tell her sister how she redecorated the place and forgot to let you in on it? Tell her that her sister is coming to see her not critique what the place looks like. Keep them busy and they won't notice. If they are staying with you, you could always send them to a hotel. |

I don't know...basically, in a nutshell I would think a guy was a wuss if he wanted to "try things out" by living together first. Nope, sorry buddy...if you want me to share your house, you know what you gotta do. |

When I grow up and get married, I'm living alone! Did you hear me? I'M LIVING ALONE! I'M LIVING ALONE!
Kevin McAllister had the right idea... |

My BF and I have been living together for over a year now, and some of the same things happened to us...all my hair and body products, shoes, etc. But lucky for us, we moved into a new place together so there wasn't any toes being stepped on when we moved in together.
In your case, I think you need to have a talk about how you feel and let her know that yes, its her home now, but she has to understand that it was your home first, so she can't just come in and take over the place. BTW: like everyone else has said, we use toliet paper every time we use the bathroom, but we also use it sometimes when we put on our make up. My BF still questions why so many rolls of TP that use to last him a year, are know gone after so many months. |

What's wrong with leather seats?
|
Am I the only girl who actually wants black leather couches in her house when she moves out?
Also, AchtungBaby80, I'm right with you on the not wanting to live together before you get married thing. |
