I think that if I moved to a brand new place and didn't know anyone...I'd actually break down and try some dating service. eHarmony or something equally as lame.
On the other hand, I also think that it's about who you are social with. The people I am around all the time attract other people and I just get to know social networks that way. |
Meet women? You should be briefing cases. Get back to work. ;)

It really depends on what type of woman do you want? You could meet one at church, at the library, at the bookstore, in a CD shop, while taking a jog, in the park feeding ducks (CAUTION: THIS WOMAN IS PROBABLY VERY LONELY AND CLINGY)...anywhere! So who are you looking for, the intellectual, the spiritual, the athletic...scary, baby, ginger, posh, or sporty, take your pick! Then, go from there.

haha, only (half) joking valerie - haha...you sound like my dad..."you can enjoy your life when you graduate...just put it all on hold" the problem lies in a multitude of things.

Law School = NO TIME for shit
New City with only a few girl friends who are usually the best wingmen there are
Introverted
A little too idealistic
I'm still a little in love with my ex, but only because I don't have anyone else to fill that spot yet...and I mean I haven't even had (much of) a fling
Everyone I know is married
I can't really go out to bars at night & meet people because of school except on the weekends, when not THAT many are out...but I'm too shy anyway, so that is kind of a nonissue
|

Lexington is very much a college town, you might have to date a little younger than what you're used to. A good deal of the people at the bars are not even 21! And especially since it's summertime, the pickings will be pretty slim. Don't dwell on the ex, and you're gonna have to get over the whole "shy" thing (haha I say that, but I suffer from both of those as well). But yeah, you're young enough (still older than me), you'll find someone soon enough! |
i'm not really too bothered....i just like having someone to have fun with...to care if i miss their calls or to miss when they're gone.

Oh how could I forget? The gym here (Johnson Center) and the main library are both great places to meet people. My guy friends loove the JC because of the girls there, and the library is more of a social place than anything, especially around finals time. Speaking of which, I need to get my butt to the library and stop playing around here on GC!

I meet girls in the most random of places. Anywhere from the BART station or when I'm walking to work. Downtown SF and the Union Square/Powell area are good places to meet the females.
The Marina and the Mission are pretty key too. |
Thank God it isn't just me! I have no clue where to meet these elusive guys. I've had two set up dates and one was too young and the other decided he wasn't "ready" to date someone yet. I'm about four steps away from a web site. This stinks! Anyone know any single guys in Detroit???

MICHIGAN SUCKS! Get the hell out of that state! |
I was in Maryland and it wasn't any better. Oh wait, I had a boyfriend while I was there, that's why I wasn't looking. Michigan in itself isn't bad but I think I'm missing where the boys are....
