Sigma Kappa is more commonly referred to as SigKap or Sigma K instead of Snakey K.

Alpha Omicron Pi = AOII (incorrectly noted as "AOPi")

Actually, I believe "A Phi O" is more commonly spoken, and APO is more common in writting. Most Brothers I know say "APhiO".

APO vs APhiO

It really depends where you are. In this Region, "APO" is both written and spoken. In other parts of the country, "APhiO" is more commonly spoken.

I've been pondering this since I read your post. What's the difference between writing AOII and AOPi? The "II" in the first isn't really a proper Pi, right?? No offense intended at all -- just wondering!

Anyway, Theta Nu Xi:

Theta Woman
Theta Women
Theta Nus
Thetas (on campuses without Kappa Alpha Theta)

PhiPsiRuss 06-23-2005 05:15 PM

Phi Kappa Psi

We are known as "Phi Psi."

Occasionally we'll also hear KKG and Kappa Gams, though that's mostly been in older songs.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon's also known as SAE's. members at southern chapters are widely refered to as E's, and apparently the midwestern chapters like to be called Sig Alphs.

True and thanks for asking! Using the spelled out Pi is mixing forms. Therefore, II is used as a more correct representation.
:)

AOII is also nicknamed, "Alpha O."

Alpha Delta Pi is usually ADPi (pronounced "Ay Dee Pie"), but some of the older books refer to us as either Alphas, Alpha Delts, or Alpha Deltas.

ADPi is the most preferred, however.

Alpha Sigma Taus are usually called ASTs, Taus, or Alpha Taus

queequek 06-25-2005 12:17 AM

Theta Delta Chi has many nicknames, based on which institution it is associated with. Some of nicknames I have came across:

Theta Delts (in most of colleges)
Thumpers (Iowa State)
Thumpty (Cornell)
Thetes (Brown)
