Since there seems to be some misconceptions and speculations going around, here is a link to the only article I could find regarding the drug bust.

Police say drugs, specifically cocaine, are no stranger to West Virginia University's campus.

Police say 20-year-old Adam Rotruck sold cocaine at the Sigma Chi fraternity house on North High Street. If a grand jury convicts him, he could face a maximum of 40 years in prison and be ordered to pay a $2,000,000 fine. The fraternity house could be seized by the Federal Government, bur right now the grand jury does not "find a forfeture for allegations" to do that.

WVU Dean of Students, David Stewart, says, "We consider this a very serious matter, and will cooperate fully and work with the U.S. Attorney's office on its investigation."

I find this interesting since in your original post you wrote "last sunday they won an award for being the most outstanding fraternity on campus." So the "most outstanding" award came after the alleged stabbing?

Also, I can't find any links to any reports regarding this alleged stabbing so could you please provide a link if possible? Thanks.

That's only one count. There are six counts against him. If I could link the article from our paper I would, but you have to be a subscriber to enter their electronic database.

Same deal with the stabbing. Although I'm not sure if it was in my paper because it took place in a different county. I'll see if I can find a police report or something.

I heard the stabbing rumor too from one of my friends. I was at Derby Days and didn't see anything remotely close to that happening- and I stayed till the cops came and busted it up. One of the brothers that I also happen to be friends with told me it was completely untrue and that the cops came became of all the "fighting" that was going on- the drunk guys thinking it was funny to slam into each other.

AMEN AMEN AMEN!!!!!!!!

Child molesters/abusers get off way too easily, especially if it is a woman (well from the profiles that i have read about)

I think that this house should not of been selling drugs in the first place and it makes thier house look very very very bad maybe they will learn thier lesson after this one.....

It is not the "house" that allegedly may have been selling drugs, but a single individual who allegedly may have been selling "out of" the house. A big difference.

Thanks. Just figured that something as big as this would have had some press on it.

And I came across the subscriber thing as well (which is why I hoped there was some other report) and noticed that you had to pay to subscribe. WTF is up with that?

Well, lets hope you are correct and it is just a rumor.

I didn't give the stabbing much credit until the other day. I know how rumors are and stuff like that gets started with no actual stem. However, I was talking to a professor in the Greek Office and they mentioned it. I kind of took that as confirmation.

There were 2 at IU, and both were taken care of (as in closed down) by their nationals.

Yea i had heard Sammies national pulled them a few years back because of a meth "lab" in their house or something along those lines. What was the other one? All the fraternities that had their charters revoked in the past few years that i can think of were because of alcohol or hazing violations
