Adams Dairy Offers Summer Internship Opportunity
 
Adams Dairy, a 500-cow organic dairy in Eleva, WI (15 miles south of Eau Claire), is currently seeking applicants for its summer internship program. The intern’s main responsibilities involved learning how to rotationally graze heifers and cows, including moving fences, gauging pasture growth rates, moving
heifer pastures daily, moving cows between pasture and freestall daily, and construction of new pastures. Other tasks include (but are not limited to) heifer vaccinations, fresh cow and calf care,
special needs cow treatments (IV’s, tinctures, whey products, and homeopathy). Tractor/field work is also available if the intern desires. Travel to other farms can take place at the intern’s request. Exposure to salespeople, nutritionists, and other off-farm personnel can also easily be arranged. This program is adjusted to each individual’s desires and abilities. Full time employment for the summer is desired, with vacation time granted. Beginning and ending dates can be set mutually with early May through late August being preferred. Semex USA Offers Product Support Specialist
 
Semex, USA, a bovine genetics company based in Madison, is currently offering a product support specialist position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and marketing expertise to promote the commercial segment of the Semex product offering in the United States and abroad. Additional responsibilities include developing sales tools, training materials (with emphasis on TPI and LPI genetic evaluation systems), preparing and delivering presentations for customers and Semex sales network, and travel with customer tours. Located at the head office in Madison, the Product Support Specialist will split their time equally between Semex USA and Semex Alliance (International). This position works closely with Marketing, Sales, and Genetics at both the Madison and Guelph locations in addition to our Canadian partners and international distributors. Travel in the USA, Canada, and internationally will be required to implement our sales and marketing plan. The candidate must be highly motivated and have excellent organization and interpersonal skills. In addition, the candidate must be customer focused, technically oriented, and with strong leadership and communication skills. Required education and experience include a BS in Animal Science/Ag Business. A minimum of 3 years experience in a related field is also desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. * Event Operations Representative for Agility and Rally Events

Responsibilities include handling all phases of event processing for Agility and Rally events, including providing knowledgeable, proactive customer service to all inquiries. Specific duties include data entry of event information, assisting clubs with requests for information, assisting customers with event and dog award questions, and processing mail and financial payments.

Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent with one to two years of college preferred. One to two years experience in a busy office environment is also required with emphasis on heavy data entry/typing and customer telephone contact. Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Word and Excel. Familiarity with AKC competition rules, regulations and policies beneficial.


* Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities include answering telephone and e-mail inquiries from customers regarding AKC’s registration policies and requirements, as well as providing general information about the American Kennel Club. An in-depth training period of four to six weeks is required to familiarize candidates with all AKC policies and procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework preferred. Must be PC literate with a pleasant and articulate telephone voice and manner. Ability to learn and retain extensive information about the AKC registration system and other department functions is required. Must exhibit a responsible and professional attitude with the ability to function under pressure and maintain composure. Previous experience interacting with the public is preferred.

* Event Operations Representative

This individual is part of a self-directed work team and facilitates efficient functioning of the Event Operations Department by providing knowledgeable, proactive customer service to all inquiries. This position handles all phases connected to show results processing, inputs and edits all information pertaining to event results, and answers inquiries about events.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or the equivalent and one to two years experience in a busy office environment. Requirements include experience with heavy customer telephone contact and fast, accurate data entry/typing skills. Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office and have strong working knowledge of Word and Excel. Must understand AKC rules, regulations and policies.
