Thanks ladies for sharing that. I wanted to know in case for some reason my body suddenly started whacking out like that. The pill wouldn't have been the first thing I thought of.

Interesting. My cousin used to be a Phys. Asst. at an OB/GYN and the 2 pills she refused to perscribe were Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Yasmin. Fot the problems you are all have, plus with Yasmin you have to be careful with your potassium levels. It has some really bad side effect relating to that (though I don't think it's very common).
I used to be on Ovcon 35 - which was wonderful. I didn't gain any weight and my periods really shortened. No moodieness either. But now it's not covered in my insurance, so I switched to Modicon which my doc says is an "old school but very good" pill. Also no weight gain, super short light periods, but I think I might be a touch moodier with it. I'd recommend either as a user. I have a pretty tough stomach, so I've never had problems with the vomiting. Though both these pills are consistent doses, so I think that helps. My doc said since the Ortho changes doses eash week that helps contribute to the stomach issues. |
Well this thread is timely, I am beginning Yasmin in 2 days. I was doing well on Ortho-lo but over the past 6-8 months, I have noticed I have started to pack on the pounds. I know it must be from my b.c. cuz I go to the gym regularly and my eating habits haven't changed. I also have had violent mood swings on ortho. But I also work a very stressful job and I am just naturally bitchy so I don't know if it is totally all the pill for me.

Apparently, the patch works really well for some PCOS ladies, too. |
I was on it and I liked it except for I was really crampy all the time. But I haven't found one that doesn't do that to me.
I am now on the generic Alese. It's ok. I really can't tell much difference. |
